there is a new indi pop band named "The Wombats" from liverpool who made their first single called let's Joy Division. I got the mp3 file by a friend
did anyone listen to the song i'm talking about??

they are going to play tomorrow in London At The Brixton Academy if somebody is interested.
Its annoyingly catchy and likely to chart very highly next Sunday.
Think while its obviously a bit of a cash in on Control, it will give as much hype back in the direction of Control and JD, by introducing the name to the 'kids'.

Im getting sick of seeing these shitty pop punk emo garbage bands ripping off the bands I grew up listenting to......especially Joy Division/New Order.
These younger bands need to find thier own ideas.
And its very annoying how trendly liking JD is becoming.

Looks like a really bad Artic Monkey ripoff, trying to capitalize off the Joy Division name......
I don't mind the copying of sounds, as all bands do it to some extent, but they need to be good doing it....this is not one of those bands.

Funnily enough I saw the Wombats at The Proud Gallery in Camden Town, London perhaps a year or so ago. I don't remember them doing this one. They were actually quite a good live band. I'm surprised that they've done this, perhaps we shouldn't judge them solely on one song. Having said that, the KGB remix is good because it actually has samples of Joy Division in it. Transmission if I remember correctly.
