Good post Kel. Thanks for the heads up. I used to live 5 minutes walk from that venue and had my wedding reception there!

Anyone got an opinion on the bands?

Can't say I've heard Red Sea, but you might as well stay at home and stick a record on while looking at a picture of Ian instead of seeing the other lot, they sound pretty good but it is really weird seeing this totally non-JD band playing authentic-sounding versions of JD songs. You can't get much further away from the visual or stage presence of JD than Transmission do!

Well, sorry to knock Tim on this,it is only opinion after all,but Hooky was approached to DJ,but after weighing up costs,Hooky charges £500 for 2 x 45 min sets, which is pretty much worth it to me,the owner got 3 bands for £300 & Hooky rated Transmission, straight from the horses mouth:shrug: :thumb:

You sure they've got 'Ooky for just 500 notes?!

That's dropping his price a bit - he was more expensive than that four years ago!!!

(Or did you just leave off an extra '0'? )

You've been fed some right bollocks there Kel! a) he's a lot more than that, as someone who has promoted gigs with him I would know, and b) he didn't exactly have anything complimentary to say about them last time out! Don't get me wrong, they sound pretty good musically, but the vocals ain't up to it and the whole stage presence is absolutely nothing like Joy Division at all, and to me they can't be called a tribute band.
