dvds to wav.. please help

anyone know if you can convert dvds to wav? i want to copy my reading 98 onto a cd, so i can play it in my car.. if anyone knows how to and can explain it in simple terms i would be most grateful..

For what it's worth, get an external DVD player, take the audio output and put it into you computers audio input. Download a free hard disk audio recorder from somewhere like tucows.com - press play on your DVD and record on the hard disk recorder.

When you've finished write the file to CD. The audio recorder will ask you what format you want to write the file in which you could select as WAV or AIFF or something similar.

And when you've done that can you run about 400 copies off and post them out to us lot (preferrably with a suitable front and back cover with complete track listings and correct timings and maybe a footnote about the band).

I might beat you to it, I've been planning to record the DVD for use in my bomber also ... and I've set up all robots to perform the task. Similarly, if I manage it, I'll let you know.

Incidentally, more than anything the additional Commonwealth version of 'Temptation' on the DVD has spurred me on to investigate putting the music onto a CD ... truly the most outstanding version of 'Temptation' that was ever played. And if you don't agree with that you should do.

am i missing something here? what do you mean your"bomber"? yeah i,ve gotta agree with you regarding temptation, mind you every time i hear it live it sounds better and better, yesterday being no exception

Temptation does seem to get better and better every year, especially when they got to grips with the 3 notes back in the late 80's. What was the sound like last night?

the sound was a bit hit and miss in parts, might have had summat to do with where i was stood (at the front near right hand speaker stack) bass seemed a bit boomy at times overall it was o.k.. i think the sound can be a bit suspect outdoors though

I ripped the sound from my Reading 98 DVD. You need to go to a site called www.vcdhelp.com that gives you guides through the whole thing. It can all be done on Freeware (available via site) and works really well. Good quality sound and it didn't take too long either

Veering slightly away from the topic, Temptation 98 was available for download at neworderbrasil.com , however since the site had a redesign lately it's no longer accesable. Maybe it will come back online again soon.

Best DVD ripper available at the moment, IMHO You can directly extract sound files from the video ones (either in WAV or MP3)

Pitchfork have you ever stumbled across a version of that fine ripping software for the ... Mac?

Umm..sorry, no - which is somewhat surprising, since the Mac is a great platform for multimedia editing.

I have a cd audio copy of said dvd if you want one, let me know at edwardrr@lineone.net

I copied the audio through external dvd player then through line in on my computer, excellent copy and played it nonstop on the beach on my hols...

I recorded this dvd to CDA. It's easy, turn the DVD on the computer altought LINE IN of your soundboard. I used soundforge to record this. Try this.

I just copy to minidisc,then minidisc to PC to CD.God i don't half do things the hard way. ROCKET COULD DO BETTER MICK
