Alex James (Blur's bassist) has mentioned twice now how he is working with Bernard...

Bernard is mentioned here first in March 2006 doing some kind of guitar part on a art piece James' was working on - http://comment.independent.co.uk/columnists/alex\_james/article354598.ece

But then, more intriguing from June 2006 - http://www.gigwise.com/contents.asp?contentid=24442

and then here from April 2007 - http://comment.independent.co.uk/columnists/alex\_james/article2484221.ece

They've obviously been working together for some time now, just wondering whether anybody actually knows what's going on? Or is it just simply two out-of-work musicians "jamming"?

Is Alex James the one that's always in the papers taking about cheese?

Should be interesting.

He owns a farm, apparently...

Also used to drink quite heavily in London with Hooky (and probably Barney)... :spit:

Wears a flat-cap and writes a weekly column for the Independent about his farm.

In his autobiography he claims to have spent ONE MILLION POUNDS on champagne and coke! :eek3:

That's more than most of this forum put together. How on earth is this possible?! I can't even begin to imagine those sorta volumes!

Doesn't mention shagging Helena Kristensen though. Now that I'd lurv to read! :food:

Ian, the Mackem Viking whose stag do we did in Berlin three weeks ago was sat in Soho Square in the summer reading said biog, Alex James walked past, whipped the book out of his hand, signed it and waltzed off without saying a single word!

Read his autobiography 'Bit of a Blur' a few weeks ago. Entertaining. He writes about how he was a big NO fan, loved the bass line from Blue Monday and the symphanies they created etc etc.

No mention of any collaboration with Bernard in the book but does mention a drinking session in the Groucho with him. They were talking about boats (quelle surprise) and planes. Alex James has a pilot's licence and used to fly himself to gigs - now that's being a 'kin rock star!.

He's making Cheese these days. If you see 'Great Wallop', that's his.

So, that's how he got the idea of launching his "Blue Monday" cheese, mentionned a few weeks ago !

Bit surprised to read that Monaco did some promo for this cheese at Oxjam, though...

Funny that Alex James is better known as Hooky's good mate and was almost in Freebass and now he's working with Bernard.
