Another bunch of cunts who hate their bassplayer.

"no, you fuckin sit there and go dum dum dum, that's your job scumbag, I'LL play that cool bassine on my pissy sounding little guitar".

That's if they even KNOW the riff is a bass and they aren't just trying to gain kudos from covering a song they've never heard.

what a weird thing to say!

i take it you don't know which one the bass player is - it varies with them

I'm sorry, but aren't this lot supposed to be the best live band ever ever EVER*??

That cover's just fcuking shit. Even if they'd written that song themselves, that would still be shit. What the fcuk is all that happy-clapping about? Have a word.

* this may, or may not be true.

Well he's playing it on a guitar is he not, so my point stands.

And Al, the clapping wouldn't be SO bad if they had any sense of rhythm

what an excellent cover: innovative hand clapping as an ironic nod to electro claps, pounding bass and a poignant, whimsical vocal. Real depth of feeling. Or just plain shite.

I think the Arcade Fire blow donkey balls. Can't fucking stand them.

What dont you like about them?

As for the cover, well, its not mindblowing. Its just there if you ask me. I think its done to pass the time more than anything, while everyone else dicks around changing instruments.

I dont like thier songs, I think they lack any kind of interesting dynamic. I don't like thier singers voice, I don't like thier songs, I think they sorta sound like Bruce Springsteen and the E St. Band at times.....

I just don't like anything about them. I tried really hard to get into them because all my friends love them, but everything I have ever heard by them I have thought was real crap, and thats after listening to them lots and lots.

They just strike me as a slightly dull white boy indie band with no soul.

Keep in mind....I really do not like many current guitar driven indie bands....I think thier music lacks dynamic, drama, sex, and anything interesting.

So with regards to the Arcade Fire...I just don't like them, and believe me, I've tried.

I think Barney's got a lot of soul, by the way. When I say white boy indie rock, I am just thinking of a bunch of drab looking dudes playing drab music that doesn't have any kind of drama, excitement, guts, or soul.

I'd never think of Joy Division, the Smiths, PIL, Echo and the Bunnymen as that, because I feel thier music did and does have excitement, drama, soul, and is anything but bland.

I gather that you like them, Uncle Liam, so I offer you my apologies, I do not want to offend you. Lots of people like the Arcade Fire, so I am the one who is wrong, I suppose. They just do not do it for me.

As Morrissey would say:

"They say nothing to me about my life".

I like Arcade Fire... well kind of. I only like two or three of their songs (which is good by itself because I don't like many songs out there), but what I like, I like a lot. I think "Rebellion (Lies)" and "Neon Bible" are excellent.

They do have one song I like...its kinda dancy and has lots of really echoey drums.......and its really good when win doesn't sing....forget the title.

For me, their best song is Power Out

That cover..is just as bad as that punk band's cover of regret. They forgot hooky's bassline...in the regret cover.

ugh... this performance is pretty annoying for sure.

i think that cover is crappy, and i like arcade fire. fully agreed, the clapping is very annoying and completely unnecessary--adding to the shite factor of the song. i couldn't even tell it was AOC until about a minute in, his voice is so muffled!
