Never knew Radiohead were New Order/Joy Division fans.

Not a clue. Its done so professionally and with a lot of respect. AND they are drunk. I would hazard a guess that they used to play it as kids, before they wrote Creep etc. Great thing about them is, they are not owned by anybody, and have a claim to be the biggest band in the world, Let them have fun IMHO, and cut them down when they do something wrong. This is deffo not wrong at all. :thumb:

For fun cause it's a really good song and they liked it. They did a whole bunch of covers of songs they liked.

Yup they have been influenced by them. I once read that one of Colin Greenwood's influences has be JD.

I disagree actually, NO haven't shown Ceremony this amount of respect live since the very early performances in 1980-82. I think Radiohead here keep it really tight and tense, which is how it's meant to be played.

What's the point of a cover when it's so close to the original...?

Not bad, but it's a bit too close.

Isn't that they like the song and enjoy playing it enough? It's not like they're releasing it or selling it, they're not necessarily doing it for other people.

I'm with you on this, but since they're not releasing it and just want to play it I guess, then why not.

If it's a cover it should be close to the original. Remixes are for fcuked up / nothing like the original versions :thumb:

Really?! Pity he couldn't have picked a better one! I enjoyed it at the time, and it's a good recording, but you can hear the band's frustration with the crowd grow during the show.

Come on Shug... this is not the type of cover you would listen often since the original will do the job.

If you want to do a cover identical to the original (Tom Yorke even does a Bernard voice of circa-1980!), do weddings, not stage :p

But yes, they did it for fun, not to commercialize it.

But a good oover of Ceremony for me is what the Echoing Green did... that's the same song, but they made it their own... just not copycat the original.

But I know it was not the point there.
