I finished cleaning up the mess left by "The Minx" who posted around 300 threads and 500 replies in some posts, I must say that pissed me off, but well, it's quite easy to delete those, a single query, but I did myself some mistakes and now, the account total "posts" should be fixed for everybody, I sure hope so... it's updated as of now.

Now I hope everyone will calm down and get back to the topic, and take personal mess OFFLINE in email and leave this board alone.

Nic, is there any chance you can recreate those threads that were deleted for whatever reason? Like the "Completists" one and Old Blue's "Such a Good Thing"? Some of us had nothing to do with all of the melodrama and just want to talk New Order.

Problem is, somebody posted 700 messages in those threads, this is why those threads were deleted, I don't think I can restore those, I think the new host has a backup, but that would overwrite the actual database....

Sorry about that, I think you will have to start these over...!

It's disappointing. Not only do we lose some good discussion, but I lost 30-odd posts! It takes me forever to chalk those up. 500 was in reach.. Argghhh...

Is is true, then, that the posting statistics and message board levels are pushing people to post?

It has an up side of course, but a down side as well (thinking of the several one-liner messages for instance) -- but not referring to you in particular!).

For me it's a side issue- I wouldn't post shite just to bump up my total [CTB or Old Blue: Insert gag here ].

However I do think there's a small element of kudos attached to the higher membership echelons. Yet high volumes of posts often occur through involvement in real-time conversing, a lot of which happens during UK afternoon-evening. Down here, we're normally catching Z's and dreaming of Buffy by then.. ;)
