THE WEEK FROM HELL! Current mood: confused Category: Life
Salford Film Festival………….
I was delighted to be able to pull this off with the JOY DIV DOCU! Thanks to stephen at the salford star for his help, it was at the reds cinema on salford quays, god I wish you could see in my mind what this place used to look like? I used to look after it all when I worked at salford dock office for the estates dept,.M.S.C.CO, longer ago than I care to remember? But it looks great now with the lowry and the war museum , the gig in the summer was great ! GOSSIP an the NEW YOUNG PONY CLUB! Top. SO picked my aunty jean up and me and twin and the girls made our way to the cinema , it was quite strange tho I was doin a photo shoot with ian Curtis s daughter at the cinema we meet and as we try to find a location , see a picture of her dad, oil paintin actually? Sat next to an advert for FRED CLAUS? Eh? Looked bizarre! She took a picture of them wild! So saw the documentary again, it really is a great piece of work twinny loved it, think he wishes hed been interviewed for it now but, maybe the sequel? Did the Q AN A, which went well ,even steve made an appearance.then at the end got presented with the painting by a really nice fan, its great ill stick a pic on for you, it now has pride of place in my collection.
Had an offer to do the music for whats been described as the , Liverpool 24hr party people, as freebass, great book by the author AWAY DAYS, He did a famous book called POWDER, the story of the farm I thought,? I know his wife well from a former life, small world isn't it. Workin week, fletch is away so it's a bit fragmented, but a lot of things on the go, the hacienda relaunch is doin really well, lot of action on all fronts, its been hard work but fletch has worked really hard and weve even been asked to support THE ENEMY, Graeme and I on a few dates, nice young audience that, lets keep our fingers crossedX
BRIXTON, had a strange gig here in the middle of a lovely family shoppin trip, great fun, weird gig tho like an office party, interesting character runnin it tho makes good music , check out disastersatwork!ah well, that time of year eh?
The rest of the week started off well, judged the music course at the MANCHESTER MUSIC SCHOOL, their put in bands as part of the course and songwrite! The bit the telly never shows you! The most important bit too I think! But they were all great musicians and andy helped make it a great day, I tried to be as honest as I could and helpful without depressin em too much ha ha! Lookin forward to the nite at JABEZ CLEGG on the 17th judging their too, couple of good bands tho should be interesting.
Rest of the week was crap had an awful business meetin that felt more like an ambush. But peter hook enterprises marches on! That was closely followed by a huge row with the complete stone roses management about the charity single , and when an immovable object meets an irresistible force all you get are sad punters? So my appearance with them was not to be, which im very sorry about for all concerned.
GREENOCK………….
Made it but no one else did? Nice drive I love Scotland the people are lovely, the place is beautiful! Greenock is nice very oldy worldy, paul thanks for the night, but it was the perfect end to a perfect week.
At a few points I thought? Humh the end is nigh? But then I remembered my mate in BRAZIL, AFTER THAT FANTASTIC NITE IN PACHA, followed by a rotten one in bella horizonte, I was moanin ,as us musicians do! All too well! He held my arm looked me in the eye, and said" peter every night cannot be like pacha" but you know what I wish it was!
