They were available on FLAC(?) format through this site about a year ago. They werent that great but its interesting to hear how the songs evolved. It just goes to show what studio wizardry can do.

A one-off novelty listen, but nothing more... The BM version is one of Digi Mike's favourites though... :evil4:

Could still be on PLG.

Although, the Site,

PLG. it seems to be having some issues beyond its regular maintenance.

I've got these on CD I think.

Will happily send them to anyone in return for some of the Quarters on my list: see thread called "Attention Fine Americans" on BCD.

Amazing that this is still going strong, as I digitized this back in what, May 2006?

Wonder who 'onemandub' is...

Some of you may know of (if not actually heard) this track which only a very few fans (perhaps less than a dozen) have been lucky enough to snag after it appeared on a CDR of early "Crystal" and "60 MPH" sessions. David Potts plays guitar on it (as i understand it was recorded at his home studio) It should be noted that there are several versions of "Crystal" in circulation that represent the track in various stages of production. They regularly appear as "Gold" CDR "acetates" - these are almost without exception, elaborate fakes that command ridiculously high prices - be warned!!!

Very few New Order "demos" truly exist as Barney especially hates any unfinished work reaching the public - there are various studio "live" tapes like the 1988 one offered here knocking around though this is a pretty good example quality wise. Look out for another recording from '85/'86 which despite being much longer is inferior in sound quality. With the release of RETRO and the inclusion of the "extra" disc with the first batch shipped there is now little left in the New Order archive to look forward to. There is an Arhur Baker "Confusion/I.O.U." mix that has never surfaced - Freeze recorded I.O.U. around the same time as the Order produced "Confusion" and "Thieves Like Us" with Baker and Jellybean Benitez. Listen to them together and you'll be hard pressed NOT to hear the similarities in production. Also; there's the 10" acetate of "Thieves Like Us" New York edit which sounds fantastic and definitely NOT a bootleg though the bands own management were unaware of its' existence.

Keep searching and sharing!

Excuse me. I've been accused of many things here, but selling boots is one thing that is a defo no no in my book. Heck I don't even have an ebay account.

I consider this a serious accusation, so either show some evidence of bugger off.

Humor this ain't.

O contare I have shared what I have freely.

Are you sure it ain't you?

Shit I just checked and I actually have this.

5 for the first 5 people who want one. pm or post here.

It really isn't that good though.

I know you didn't, but Depthy's attempt at humor doesn't leave much to the imagination and could be easily misinterpreted. Blackening the reputation of a Nooler just for the hell of it isn't on.
