Ian Curtis hypnosis tape...?

Could someone who's seen the J.D. documentary explain what this is actually all about? I didn't get the hypnosis scene in CONTROL, and didn't understand that this was a real-life occurrence until reading about it in re. the documentary. So Barney actually has a tape of this event, and we get to hear it in the film? what's on it?

The Control version was, as was typical of the film itself, loosely based around something that did happen, but with considerable artistic license. Bernard did indeed hypnotise Ian.

The recording of the hypnosis in the JD documentary is only short,but went along the lines of..

Barney:"How old are you?"

Ian "34"

Barney "What are you doing at the moment?"

Ian "Reading a book"

Barney "What kind of book?"

Ian "Law"

Barney "Are you a lawyer?"

Ian "No I just like to read about it"

Really weird to hear it happening,and you could have heard a pin drop in the cinema.

(i really can't wait to see this film-- i don't understand why it wasn't just released concurrently w. Control here in the US, as I believe the Weinstein Co. has the distribution rights to both...)
