the wombats. the sooner this wave of completely shite indie bands is over the better.
can see why my dad would go on stage with them, but i did tell him i thought it was verrrry uncool. but then he said he was gonna dedicate it to me to piss me off!! ![]()

The Wombats are a bunch of untalented asswipes who most likely don't understand Joy Division or New Order, and they don't deserve to share a stage with Hooky.
Hooky can do what he wants though, because he is the man. :)

They are actually really quite good. Just cos their first single upset a few die-hards, but in the process probably gained JD a legion of teen fans. 'Moving to New York' is ace. ![]()
I Love The Wombats and cool to see hooky with them ![]()
Jack your dad grew up a long time ago....
Fair enough but I cannot stand them.
To each thier own though.
On an unrelated note...
Saw the Editors Wednesday night and I was really impressed. Great songs, and a fantastic light show. Certainly had a respectable JD/NO vibe at the show.
Eek. I never heard of The Wombats before until this thread and I wished that I wasn't so curious to seek out their videos. They sound very unoriginal, like every other teen-oriented bands there. Very cheesy if I may add.
hate the wombats, and hate that song. but i do love the bass solo at the end and the added bass throughout, which is nothing to do at all with the wombats so ![]()

Certainly looked as tho he was enjoying himself, great bit of footage... Always great to see his old Yamaha in action, he seems to be using it a lot these days.

He's playing his TITS off, excellent, seems to be REALLY getting into it, almost more enthusiastic and committed than he seems in a lot of his own endeavours lately. Maybe he should play the Yam more often eh?

Thanks mate! Nice catch
I particularly like the solo towards the end :D
I love pump it up...by costello! But Jack...a bit too much vedder after that m8......i paid for the wombats cd...its not very good....fin
Yeah they are shite. the same generic indie sound as the kooks, razorlight etc....really boring
its strange, but i can just about remember when new order were about the coolest band on the planet, but its becoming some distant memory mainly due to hooky and his ever increasingly embarressing outings. he loves the attention and doesnt seem to care who he gets on a stage with. so hooky seems to think its a good idea to dump new order and get on stage with the wombats and some dreadfull stone roses cover band??????? although stuff has went on in new order that i have no idea about, and im sure the decision to leave was not an easy one, it couldnt have been so bad that he thinks what he is doing now is better.
