Hello all.
Being a big Barney fan, I have tried ordering the David Nolan Bernard Sumner Bio several times. However, everytime I try to order it through amazon, the place I am ordering it from doesn't seem to have it.
I live in the US.....can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can order this book?

Cannae help you find it Zak, but it's the same shit I had with spamazon with the Factory art book, as well as some games I ordered.
However, it IS worth getting the book, as well as Nolan's other related effort "I swear I was there".
Even as a dyed in the wool bass supremacist (who therefor believes Peter Hook is the son of God and will clobber anyone who says otherwise), and even though I have Barney pegged as the world's cleverest and most talented village idiot, the biog is really good and a great read. Oddly though it neither spurred my appreciation for his genius and talents, nor his olympic grade daftness.

That's because there was little new material in the book that wasn't widely known, and it was largely put together from the perspective of one man (Terry Mason) rather than a wider variety of shade and colour.

I really want to read this as well and have been baffled that no one seems to have it. What the fcuk. (Wish the publisher had gone with an alternate cover image... But oh well.)

I assume you have tried the independent Amazon Partners... are they lying when they say they have the book?

Funny about the Factory book....I found it right here in Columbus at a Barnes and Noble...very odd.
I agree with you about Barney..he is indeed the worlds greatest and most talented village idiot. Ive always thought it was funny that he can appear to be so dumb in interviews....but then you learn more and find out just how brilliant he is.
I suppose they all are though, as Steve and Hooky and Gillian are definately highly intelligent.
I've got the "I Swear I was There Book".....great read! Found it at Half Priced Books for five bucks, hah hah.
I ordered the Barney book thru Amazon.com.....and then got an email from the store Amazon was getting the book from saying they didn't have it.

I tried getting it thru regular old Amazon.com......the store they were going to order it from didnt have it...
I think its odd that Barnes and Noble never got the Sumner book........because I did find the Morely Joy Division book there this past Friday. Its half awesome, half pretentious shit....which is standard for Paul Morely I suppose.
Although if Target is getting the book...that'd be great! I could just swing by the Lennox Target and pick it up, you know? (As you are one of the only other Columbus-ites on this board, hah hah).

That Target link is just really an Amazon.com link... doesn't mean that Target would get it

That's funny, I have quite a different perception of Barney. I've always thought that he was a very smart individual, if not the smartest of the band. His views may be weird at times, but the way he talks and what others say about him, give me the impression that he's much deeper than people think he is.

Bernard just doesn't seem very comfortable in being interviewed so his responses usually are geared toward ending the question and moving on to the next so the interview can end as soon as possible so he can leave and end the unpleasantness. His answers are often evasive, over simplified and inane, or downright bullshit... just avoiding alot the whole process. Doesn't mean he is stupider than other band members, just uncomfortable at communicating in that way.
Of course the rather simplified written philosophy in the Electronic booklets doesn't help... sounds like he has had too many drugs. The total bullshit response he had to Hooky's blog last year was another example of being totally evasive in public forum.
