A cheaper alternative would be Mr Manchester Airport.
Everyone's happy, except the poor buggers under the flight path.

whats the liverpool one called again 'wallowing in it airport' ;) . . . . . . little joke btw no offence to the north wests second city :)
Wouldn't happen in a million years. Manc Airport is owned by the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) ie the ten local authorities of Greater Manchester.
By the time they'd consulted with focus groups and appointed a sub-committee to look at all options (eg. should it be Tony Wilson Airport or Anthony H Wilson Airport) the result would be that they'd probably end up calling it Malcolm Maclaren Aerodrome.
We know what an incompetant lot politicians are. Besides it took them years to change it from Ringway to Manchester International.
