Maybe each member could release their own "remix" this year... would not have to work together and they could edit out the others' involvement
It would be kinda like the Kiss solo albums, and almost as good

I got the torrent for Blue Monday '88, yet as in purchasing, I got the 83 version on International.
My Personal favorite mix, is the Beach,...if that is a mix. Though I consider the live rendition at Oxygen 05 to be a mix, much prefer that one.
I'd have to go with 83, because 88's samples drive me infuckingsane. Although, I enjoy the edited bass on the 12" mix of Blue Monday '88. Haven't heard '95 yet.
Do you honestly want to hear the new Barney? Hahaha, though it would be interesting, to see a new version.
Blue Monday is a staple, in what I consider intelligent pop music. Though, Bernard and co absolutely loathe it, I find it to be their greatest experiment. And that robot voice is very sexy.
When I first played the Oxygen 205 version, with the "I can't get you out of my head" sample, my friend almost crashed his car from laughter.

I can't be arsed answering all the questions but it is a great track, and probably the most important in that it opened up dance music to a much wider audience, it made a lot more people aware of new order, factory and the hac, and it still sounds fantastic now.
I would call it a classic and though new order don't like it so much, I bet they're glad they wrote it. I'm in the process of reading from joy division to new order, and at the time of shell shock Barney was still proud of it, it's only because they've played it to death that they don't like it any more.
Should there be a 2008 mix? NO! there should have only been the 83 original version, all the others are just over indulgent cack.
the rock around the clock version's pretty good but not as good as the klein & mbo version :) 'dirty talk' remix :) hey i might shove that on ebay gotta be worth a one'r :)
I was 25 when i bought it!But didn't get on the day of release or indeed for several months after this.I was still recovering from getting married AGAIN at that time!

I may be two days late, but I'm still celebratin'! 
1] I don't know if having it on Substance first counts!

6] I used to go out almost every single Saturday night to Independent Bar in Orlando. Every Saturday night was 80's retro night in the main room, and was a staple. Filled the entire dance floor within the first 30 seconds.
For a song that's only about 7 months older than me, it's still got all the good stuff in an NO track!! Happy Candles and Kudos, !!

With a total of 125 different mixes of the track..... retailing at a special price of £435, with initial quantities coming with free "Blue Monday" mug and "I Am A Completist Saddo" scarf, specially commissioned by Howard Wakefield and with words by Paul "jerkoff orange munching squirrel fister" Morley.

Original 12" from 1983, although what print run I've got I haven't a clue.
1988 remix - it ironed out the glitches of the original and still sounds as fresh as a daisy today. Still hear it played down Staly Vegas and all the drunk, little, teen girlies don't have a fook who it is but are thrusting their arse to it on the dancefloor. Bliss.
Kylie's 'Can't get Blue Monday out of my head' was a classic as well...

Bleeding hell. I know it sounds daft but it seems like a different life ago. It was life defining for me along with Are "Friends" electric, 4 years earlier and The Birthday Party, Junkyard and The Bad Seed Ep. Shit music and bands in the 80s?
