Should be a good read, if only to find out how he acquired his DJing prowess.

Sorry Jack, i hate being negative knowing you post on here an all that, but there cant be that many people interested in reading a book about a story anyone already interested in doesn't knows inside out anyhow.

Maybe im just tired of all things "Factory" now, pity the people involved (everyone, not just Hooky) weren't this interested when it went tits up in 1992 instead of grabbing the first London offer that swept through the door.

I might be in the minority, but I'd be interested in reading this. And, I seriously doubt we know everything from that time period.. I mean.. this is going to be a first person account.

I don't have a problem with any member of NO/JD milking their history as well. I'd do the same if I were them. It beats letting others make money off it don't it?

yup it all seems a bit sad, but then all things new order have felt that way for some time now. clubs open and then they shut all the time, in not sure the story about the hac is THAT interesting, we have heard it all,let it go. and i dont follow the logic that it is all right for them to milk their own past because others will do it anyway, how about a bit of dignity? i remember when not knowing stuff about new order etc was what made the whole thing so interesting. but then i remember seeing hooky on stage looked amazing before he felt the need to "please his fans" by strutting from one side of the stage to the other drinking in the adulation, aye very cool.

i dont think anyone is trying to be critical of content we havent yet read, but i think you are allowed to give your thoughts on what the idea sounds like, if you cant do that then you have to give every future release the benefit of the doubt, so im off to amazon to order dickie davis beginners guide to pebble dashing (it may be very good)

In terms of cool back story, it should go Ian > Bernard > Stephen/Gillian > Hooky

Surely...Bernards book was very good, as was the various bigraphies on My Curtis.

Hope Hookys lives up to the hype though

Bernard hasn't written a book. He made little notes on David Nolan's though, and we all fell on them like hungry wolves, just like we will on Hooky's.

I can't wait for Hooky's booky wook.

If Hooky's blogs and personal anecdotes are anything to go by, this book will be very entertaining.

I find it amazing that anyone could find Hookys blog entertaining.

I enjoy Hooky's blog posts. He has a great sense of humor and he writes as though he were speaking to you. It's not all stuffy and prim and proper. He is quite funny, IMO. Alas, I am but a New Order fan-girl, so I enjoy everything they all do as individuals. :)

It aint just Hookys Book he wrote it with Ang who used to be the manager at the Hac, and is really behind how the Hac spent all of New Orders money.

Amazon ain't all that reliable at the best of times. I'd wait to hear sommet about this on the blog.

I will definitely buy this book if it talks about the band, the early days, the behind the scenes intoxications, etc, but I will NOT BUY THIS BOOK

The book will be containing anecdotes about the whole experience, I am reliably informed. All the stuff that nobody knew about, or only knew some bits about.

Might have to get an advance proof-copy if one exists (the joys of knowing someone who works in a book shop!)...

Having said that, haven't yet finished Bill Drummond's new one "The 17" - that's not out for a couple of months... Very entertaining, though! :)
