Q gave Republic quite a good review there! Interesting that they compare it to Closer...

I love Republic...Hooky is too low in the mix, but the songs are really good, and its got Barney's best, most poetic lyrics. I have always thought that Republic is a very beautiful, yet sad album...feels like the end of a relationship....one that ends not out of spite, but because everything has been exhausted.

Hooky is also too low in the mix on Technique and parts of WFTSC...

Did Barney have a grumpy day when mixing the albums?
