Joy Division Coming to DVD and Zune Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance to the digital music playing device

Hey, who wants a Zune? Anybody? Anybody? OK, fair enough.

But what if said Zune were limited edition? Aaaaaand emblazoned with the artwork from Joy Division's classic Unknown Pleasures LP? (No, the image over there isn't what it looks like, just Pitchfork's own artist's rendition.) And the whole thing is a tie-in with the DVD release of Grant Gee's Joy Division documentary?

In conjunction with Genius Entertainment's June 10 release of the Joy Division DVD, Microsoft will indeed issue a run of Zunes all done up in Peter Saville's famed design. Saddest mp3 player ever!

In other Joy Division merchandise news, Rhino will issue a single-disc best-of from the masters of mope on April 29 in the U.S. Oh, and Control, that other recent Joy Division flick, is due on DVD June 3 from the Miram Collection/The Weinstein Company. -via Pitchfork

I'm just waiting on a technique zune, so I can repeatedly view the fine time video till my eyes bleed. Or why the hell not, a blue monday edition zune. Can be all dressed up to the eyes, with the sleeve design.

I like the fake pictures of it:

Pah! I reckon I could make my own PCL themed Sony with some suitable paint. How hard could it be to paint a colour-wheel?

Or I could do a BM one. Making the cut-out holes might not do the player much good, mind.

worked on the zune project, and it is different from the mockup shown above (it isn't just the original graphics slapped on the back). unfortunately my balls would get crushed if i post the actual pictures!

is there any difference whatsoever in a Zune vs an iPod? Is it just a competitors version that plays MP3, or is there actually a sound quality difference?

There is no real sound quality difference, as both Zune and I POD can play lossless now..though Apple lossless is worlds above WMA lossless
