Liked the LWTUA version Hooky played, anyone know if any copies/versions of it are available even though he said it wasn't released?

Also on a related topic, at the Finsbury gig I believe it was an Arthur Baker mix of LWTUA played prior to the band coming on, anyone know any details of this one, from memory the vocals had been 'messed' with quite a lot!

It sounds OK, but more like a drum and bass loop mash up rather than an Arthur Baker work.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought it was a joke!

Am I the only one who has never heard of this Malcolm McLaren abandoned lp that this version of LWTUA was recorded for? Hooky seems unsure when it was recorded (pre or post JD versions) and it appears the rest of the band had no contribution.

The only other session I've heard of where Ian tackled the song alone was the dubbing for the lip sync for the video.

I'm often too lazy to listen or download these kind of things but this is a fantastic little piece.Thanks

The vocal track sounds like the 'classic' version (rather than the Pennine one), as per the video overdub it's the manipulation of an existing vocal take rather than something done specially, since in both cases Ian wasn't exactly available to do it.

Yeah thanks Johnny, did a bit of googling and it appears the McLaren thing is a 'remix' (around the time of 'Control'?) that was never released, the impression I'd got from the podcast was that the project was contemporary with the original recording sessions for LWTUA. Moral of this story, don't listen to podcasts while driving!

I'll have to re-read the literature because I was under the impression one of the last things Ian recorded was a lip sync to the video - I've certainly got a version with both vocals on - but I haven't a clue what's fact an legend these days.
