Personally I think it's one of New Orders best, however sometimes I feel like this song doesn't get the recognition it deserves. It's not mentioned all that often. Am I wrong?

it's too poppy amd has no hook line. other than that it's ok. i prefer the rockier tracks like shack-rock

One of their best songs and yet so simple to play. Could have been a hit, if they had wanted it to have been. Love it.

Age Of Consent, is kindof like a song for when you find out the lass you fancy is underage, and your a cunt enough to believe shes 18. Hence the "Birds and the bees" line, which to me is one of those puzzling factors of NO. No fecking clue as to what the songs about, or the noises barney makes at the end. Yet, it's loads better then the shite on movement.

barnster at his boyish best even though he sounds like a crying cat. A song that contains everything that makes NO great. Barney's jagged guitar, killa bass melody, and steve's robotic drumming.

Wouldn't dream of it mate, I was just meaning that, it's a clasic new order track, therefore new order fans will like it, even if it's not one of your faves, I'm sure you'd prefer to listen to it than rick waller.

any idea how the band feels about it? It didn't make the Retro box (although it was not alone there!).

the band didn't seem to play it much in the later years is why I ask.

from i understand Barney cannot sing in that key anymore and that's why they don't play it anymore.

I do.

If you were to make a CD of tracks to represent New Order, Age of Consent should always be on the list.

Great song. Such a shame they have not played it live in ages. The constant playing of Your Silent Face means that song has lost a bit of its enigma in a live environment.

No other song by em stirred the fire in the belly like AOC used to back in the day but it doesn't do that much for me these days
