Miracle Cure Official Video

oh --you weren't kidding, it really is gay. (as opposed to just "lame" which I assumed you meant initially) I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing... but yeah, not the most artful or creative video in the world, is it. looks more like a commercial for a clothing line or a cologne or something.

WOW! Gay and pants at the same time, like pink A line flares with yellow pockets in the knees!
Is that really the official video? Looks like it was put together in five mins for a background queen/screen show in 'Brompton's' or 'The Coalherne' in Earl's Court.
If it IS official, it looks like 'New New Order' and 'Bad Lieutenant' will be incredibly shite too if they follow the same pattern...

Whoa buddy, with a peach waistcoat, I think I could pull that off!
:cat:
Its from blankandjonesonline or summink, so assuming its official. Glad they obviously have high aspirations for the song then. not.
and gayest was used in the sense that its very camp, not in that it's also extremely shite.
That guy in the video looks a tiny bit like a much younger Bernard Sumner....
Would have much preferred a performance based video with Bernard singing and playing guitar, being backed by Blank and Jones on synths, while tons of attractive young people dance in the club they are playing in and take loads of drugs.
oh well.
I think of it rather as a 'concept video' to the music. Like a set of random images to the music. I've seen other videos by Blank and Jones on their official site, and I can surely say that the quality isn't great, but at least, they made an effort though. (Whether that effort is good or bad or in between, depends on what you think though.)
Even though it's not the best music video I've ever seen, I still think it's an interesting video.

'Interesting' is such a beautifully polite way of describing it E.

Well, there are some nice looking guys and girls... club eye candy, fine. The shots of the guy on the bed are pretty homoerotic but who cares, most kids are cool nowadays they have no problem. But what is with the drag queen showgirl thru out?
If there was a story to the random images along with the lyrics, it could be that the guy wakes up, looks at the "stranger in the mirror" which is him (a guy) and figures out that his miracle cure to his problem would be to be a woman, or at least dress up like a woman... or something like that. The "miracle cure girl" in the lyrics is a girlfriend to some guys or dressing up and being that girl to other guys. Or maybe the drag queen is a "miracle cure" to some guy out there. Maybe all three. Maybe that is reading way too much, but it is kinda weird interpretation to have gender confusion into the mix.
or maybe they thought the drag queen was cool.
OP - Stop that gay = (shit + lame) crap already. You are offending gay people. Yes, that means me - and more than a few other New Order fans.

I think we did establish that the video was a) gay b) lame not c)gay = shit + lame.
Clearly I've offended a gay person who can't read. Third post in six years. I'm disappointed. ![]()

They already had a drag queen, in Duran Durans come undone.
"One of the gayest videos ever. In terms of videos, its shite too:"
Note the "shite too", leading to the conclusion gay = shite. Obviously English is not your forte.

Well, the word 'too' would imply that in this case, it would be both, but I'm also thinking that not every usage of the word 'gay' would imply the meaning or connotation of the word 'shit/shite'.

Different sentences, nobhead. As in its gay and its shite. I could have said 'its great too', but that wouldn't have suggested that gay=great either.
I even posted this before you started fingerpointing, but your supreme English reading skills must have just missed it.

It is a very 'gay' video - very camp indeed and I know many of my 'real-life' friends would love it, giggle and agree that it was aimed at a gay market - their market.
It's also shite. Badly thought out, badly edited and badly shot.
The video for the track could have been brilliant. It could still have had a gay theme if that was the intention of the track, it could have been completely 'straight', it could have been a mixture.
The more I listen to the song, the more I think that a great opportunity has been wasted.
Regarding the comments in this thread as 'offensive' - I think that's short-sighted and over-reactionary. I've seen alot of 'gay' videos (songs and performance, not porn, ok?) made by and for gay people. This one fulfills all the criteria, only without any finesse.
Maybe sometimes people are a bit too quick to react (I know I've been guilty of that in the past) but it seems a bit too much a case of 'You're not allowed to use "gay" it's OUR word.'
Well, it's not. It's a word that was adopted by the LGBT community and is part of the English language. Its use conveys an idea and opinion and is perfectly valid in this context, especially as Burt was very careful in his punctuation...

Oh, nearly forgot, I'm presuming by the above that 'obviously' English isn't your first language as you've completely missed the intent of the punctuation. ![]()

Erm, I take it that you're not English, then? ![]()
Because that is NOT what that means...

That video is gayer than George Michael sucking the cream out of a Twinkie in the men's room at a Backstreet Boys concert.
However...
it's not very good.

I agree, it's a sin.
I have the idea this is a joke and the real video is soon to come.

Apparently, it's not a joke though. The only improvement I would suggest for the video is to have a better visual quality---better camerawork and better quality of the picture itself, but I don't think there's anything wrong with the content of the video.
Or maybe for some people, it may be a decent song with a not-so-good or mediocre or crap video or whatever.
I feel that way when I see the video for New Order's Round and Round. As much as I like the song, as a straight female, it doesn't excite me seeing a bunch of women smiling to the camera---it doesn't repulse me; just it's like, 'So what?'.
But that's just reality, you know, encountering a music video that you didn't like or felt was crap or something.

I would have stopped loitering MUCH earlier if I hadn't got such a long phone call from an Annie-loving luvvie hippy.
