David Nolan's CONFUSION

Finally got round to buying it. What a great read so far. Always been curious to where Barney used to live. He was a few blocks away from where I was born,as it goes. And like Alfred Street,my street's (Choir Street) bloody gone as well,disappeared under a row of warehouses.

Any other interesting findings...? (don't know where the hell to get this book, it doesn't seem to be distributed in the US at all, will have to rely on other readers to get the low-down)

You'd think it wouldn't be so difficult to find. If every JD/NO fan bought a copy, wouldn't that already warrant a more extensive print-run--?

publisher's business sense = questionable

I bought my copy of CONFUSION on amazon.com. I paid around USD$25 since it was shipped from the UK. It arrived within five days and in perfect condition! Definitely worth it! :)

Mine finally arrived after 6 months. It's a worth reading for any fans, but the book itself looks badly edited... the photos are printed in very poor quality.

I found it well written, with a very british humour that fits perfectly with the main character and his work, although its not as detalied as I've imagined. The flames between Sumner & Hook are priceless

I never understood all the fuss about Bernard's "real name"... we all know who he is and what he does. The discussion seems silly to me.

I bought the book 4 months ago on Amazon.com for $17.60. Actually I was disappointed. The book goes thru the biography of Joy Division, then New Order, which we all know, while the main focus should be on the persona of Bernard Sumner. Like someone has said here before, the book doesn't disclose how Bernard writes music, lyrics, why he makes less music in recent years, etc. The interview from 2005 that was linked to at one of the recent threads on this page, gives you more than that book.

Although I quite liked Bernard's little comments. Good idea.
