Well, FINALLY got around to watching Control (probably the last on this board to do so). Great flick. Best part is when Hooky beats some ass at the riot.
Have to say I was quite disappointed on the special features on the DVD though. More about Cobijn than Ian, Joy Division or NO... not a single word or picture of Barney, Hooky or Steve. You would think there would be SOMETHING more about the band on there... Special features were 
yeah i agree.
it was my second time seeing the flick. The guys are humorless, Curtis obviously had no good times, and the conversation is cliche. Annik the actress was just too perfect looking.
I would of like to see some of the hijinks on the buzzcocks/jd tour. The guys were just portrayed too darkly.
I was actually pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be really boring, and it wasn't. Closing track was a real let down though.
Haven't seen it yet myself. I've been waiting for DVD to come out in the US (these idiots cannot get that a movie that isn't run in cinemas must be released on DVDs immeadtedly). Going to buy DVD it next week on Amazon.com.
I saw it a couple of weeks back. I thought it was very good. It was very dark but I thought the actor playing Rob Gretton injected some much needed humour. Barney came over as nervous and nerdy and Hooky seemed to be the leader to a degree IMO.
Is it just me, or did Debbie come off as a total saint in the movie.... somehow I seriously doubt she was all peaches and creme like the movie portrayed.... especially once she found out he was cheating on her... although I have no doubt that's how SHE remembers it.

Erm, hate to burst your bubble but I saw it in the theatre twice in San Francisco. It ran for several weeks in many US cities, and had at least a screening or two in many more. It even made it to my hometown of Lexington, Kentucky, ferchrissakes!
Great flick, but after 24HPP, the whole "Hey, we're Warsaw...you may'ave 'eard of us...we're looking for an artsy, introverted lead singer for our band...we're down to the Skullions or Steve's Rag-Time Rag Band...you in?" & the Tony Wilson fainting in the pub scene were kind of cringe worthy.
But all & all, very beautiful, haunting movie. Many of the themes/moods touched on were a little too close to home.

it WAS finally released in the usa? what gives, tho? it took a fcuking 1 1/2 year to obtain. i guess, that's the us markets.

i felt the same way. it seems that she put the whole "relationship" burden heavily on ian.

Yeah but it was him who cheated and she was taking care of a child.

Yeah but it was him who cheated and she was taking care of a child.
But what drove him to do so... a man satisfied with steak at home rarely strays....
