Why not make an album with entirely all dance music or would that go against the grain with their dance-rock sound they are known for?
More electronic stuff like Guilt, Vanishing point, Here to Stay and gear the album to club music.

not at all. in fact the other way around. i think that the last electronic songs were too forced and full of clichés. i really feel the rock songs are played with a lot more emotion by the band, both on record and live. my 2 cents.

I think there something not quite right about them making a dance album given their age.
However, there is a great deal of interesting electronic music out there that may have a groove, but isn't what you'd call out and out dance.
Krautrock has been simmering away as an influence for a few years now - and both Barney and Stephen are fans - the Italo-disco revival has plateau-ed, but is still there, and there's definitely room for slower electronic music.
Given their studio nous - there's nothing to stop them creating something awesome in production - it's not like they'd have to take it out on tour, now Hooky's gone.
it wouldn't be a good idea. WFTSC's dance tunes seemed a bit forced. In some interviews, Barney basically said they did go out of their way to make 'dance' songs.
if i remember correctly on the last album they said they didn´t have any electronic-based track so they kinda forced themselves to write one. that´s how Jet and GIAUE were written. and according to the results i don´t have to add anything to this, do i? 
first point, new order won't be doing another album, not soon anyway.
second, new order have a broad range of fans some that like the dance stuff, some that like the rock stuff, they keep them all happy by making albums containing both, why change, I like both and would not be happy listening to an album of just one style, it's the variety that makes it interesting.
depends on what you define "dance": if the results are as corny as jetstream and guilt, than no. if they get interested in a particular new genre which is happening and find a way to integrate it in their sound as they did on "Low-life" and "Technique", then yes of course. Give me dubstep-Barney any time.
I was really impressed with the updated electronics for the 1998 shows. But since then, they somehow decided to become karaoke to general midi sounds.

Interesting, as its their rockiest sounding album. I'm sure at the time it came out, Barney said something about not understanding the new technologies, when asked why they'd gone for a rockier sound. I doubt with his age and lethargy that he would be arsed to learn how to use it all again.
So, no. It's a non-starter, especially without Gillian, who seemed to take on the mantle from Technique onwards.
I like how their albums are filled with electronic songs that rock, and rock songs that you can dance to.
Going simply one way or the other, could be neat, but it wouldn't be New Order.

Erm, what? "Get Ready" is far from being dance music...
I'd like to hear more dance stuff from NO, but I agree that some of the last album sounded a wee bit forced and limp sounding. I still love Technique :) So much energy and optimism, perhaps that was a late 80's thing.
It would certainly numb the pain of Get Ready.
I would really love to hear something along the lines of the high-energy melancholia of Vanishing Point etc but realistically those days are past. Bizarrely its only really Hooky that hangs around in clubs these days anyway.

I love the studio version of GIAUE. However, I don't think it worked well live and I think the Glasgow DVD has proved that.
No, they shouldn't. They should just call it a day. just release the leftovers from WFTSC and formally disband.
