If NO could produce a couple songs on a new album similar to what Barney did on Roth's "Miracle Cure", I'd be happy. "New album" is speaking hypothecially.
Despite displeasing some of the long time fans who prefers the rock music side of NO but at this stage for NO even cranking out all electronic music might be somewhat enjoyable for me if NO would ever consider it.
You mean like get some producers to write most of the music to make them sound like a contempory dance act and just add some Bernard vocals on top? maybe add a little token Hooky bass...? that would be lame. That would be like a Madonna album. If New Order would reach that level kinda like Depeche Mode, with an album full of totally outside produced tracks like "Guilt" or "Miracle Cure", that would be a pathetic step in the band's history. Bernard's lyrics lately have not exactly been something to get too excited about anyway.
New Order should make what music they are interested in making... and if they are not interested in making their own music thay should retire.

wow, Barney has one really poorly written song as a guest singer (did barney ever really write great lyrics?), and then all his latest songs are poorly written? What was wrong with Playing the Angel? One of the best albums to come out recently from 80s bands....
