MAIL, I WROTE ASKING IF WE COULD SORT IT OUT AMICABLY, THIS IS THE DIARY OF THE CONVERSATION , IVE ANSWERED SOME OF THE ALLEGATIONS, BUT , ITS ALWAYS ABOUT MONEY ISNT IT? here are some facts to reflect on
1]most decent record shops especially in London [ never mind the internet] are full of Joy Division cds and lps that don't originate from Factory London or Rhino =true but whether there decent or not is in the eye of the beholder=
2] no contract existed between Joy Division and Factory at the time of > Joy Division recording its material in its short existence which is why the situation at 1] above exists =not true see 24 hr party people=
3]Martin's tapes that we have here came to our company with a legitimate written agreement signed by three members of Joy Division including Ian on behalf of four members of Joy Division allowing Martin or who followed on from him with the agreement the rights to exploit the recordings =clearly forged our lawyers wouldn't stop laughing=ph=
4]there are early New Order quarter inch tapes in the reels that came > from Martin too = look forward to that bootleg eh?=
5]I still have outstanding unpaid bills for work I did to yourself personally going back to 1985 that I have transferred the debt liability owing to the company I now work for- I have pieces of equipment here I > just put into storage when you didn't pay the outstanding bills. =absolute rubbish , mr .hewitt did not earn the title , the most hated man in rock n roll, for his easy goin attitude to money=

the seven 10 inch nab reels I have here now of Martin's cost me £19,000 in total- so I would want £25,000 for the tapes and a further £7000 then production of all Joy Division related audio by Recordcore/Interstate/Dandelion would cease from the date that was paid and then no further stock be manufactured and as it sold through it would not be available to retailers to re order
considering that a fairly average small reel that was sold by a guy in Altrincham at auction with two JD songs on it went for £1600 and he withdrew the fact it was supposedly produced by Martin just before the auction ended- I don't think that £25,000 for the tapes that include a wealth of JD stuff [one reel is very early New Order songs] is a lot to ask
the tapes came with an agreement between yourselves and Martin about the recordings on the tapes

yes but we are not talking about one cd's worth of stuff on these
tapes- there are seven 10 inch reels of Martin's Joy Division and New
Order stuff- the Recordcore/Interstate /Dandelion company doesn't have
to prove anything to you in terms of purchase price- you make a
reasonable offer near to what we have asked and we can move forward
D was interested in three of the reels at £9000
there may be more tapes coming too from Martin's cousin- just awaiting
confirmation from
that side of his family

so who would we actually be buying the tapes from you or the record
company? i must reiterate that these tapes belong to us anyway, they
were paid for by us completely. they are owned by the band and the
songs are licenced to warner brothers.

you would be buying them from from the record company who own the tapes- the tapes from the original source ie Hannetts relatives and associates- belonged to Hannett - even Ian Brown in an interview says that Martin went to Stone Roses sessions and carried his Joy Division tapes with him as reference- think you will find the tapes were paid for by Factory not Joy Division so not "us" ie you as you state but Factory does not exist unless you are now saying you are now personally liable for Factory's debts and assets by claiming ownership of something they initially paid for but the production deal they did with Martin allowed him his own versions which is what these are- you had no contract with Factory which is well known- there is a contract with Martin about these tapes and evidence that Martin was not paid his true dues for all the work he did- just like you still owe me money for equipment repairs and servicing still unpaid
