So because you werent born whent he singles were released, that means you want supposed higher quality versions of songs that have been released countless times?

Its not a question of whose the biggest fan. When they reform there is ZERO chance I will go and see New Order. why? because its an embarrasment, the constant re releases of the same old shit, the same boring set lists, the disgraceful lack of effort. And this constant scraping of the barrel is nothing short of dispecable.

Are you going to buy the inevitable re mastered version of International? Or the Rest of New Order? Or the remasted Retro box set?

And you know what else, I listen to music on my IPod, my shitty little MP3 player, my computer, my cd player, my little Ipod stereo thing. I've never actually thought that any of the stuff needed re mastering. Its fine as it is. This is another thing I dont get. why are people so keen for the remasters? Everyones got the studio albums, and played them to death, and presumably likes them enough (apart from Mike) that they would go and see them live, so who cares? What difference is it going to make? aaprt from more totally underserved money in the coffers?

There are at least 12 songs on these remasters that I do not have good quality CD versions of. I don't know about you, but I like to support musicians and pay for music. And if you think listening to music on your iPod is "fine as it is" you need to get your head out of the sand.

Of course I'm disappointed about these remasters. Like everyone else, I was hoping for a few more. But what right do we have to tell Bernard, Peter, Stephen and Gillian what music they should release? They're the artists and its they're intellectual property.

I'd rather take the few pleasures I can get than demand the band do exactly what I want and have them perform and be as if it were 1985 again. That was 23 years ago. Move on.

I would reply properly, but Mike Adamle is going to be on raw in a minute. I will say this though, I've probably spent more money on supporting musicians in the last three years than most people do in a lifetime. However, the musicians I have chose to support have mostly been the ones who give something back to the paying consumer, be that a quality live performance or new material instead of pointless re release after pointless re release.

As for digital re mastering. Well, i wonder what everyone was doing five years aog when such a thing didnt exist. You know, I've spoke to a lot of Interpol fans all across westenr europe, and guess what, not one of them has said to me "Oh, i wish they would re master Turn on the Bright Lights."

There's an argument to be said that New Order arent exactly "no more" when the stream of releases can be described quite accurately as "constant."

But the point is, I dont see why people are almost ejaculating themselves over yet another re release of the same songs, the songs that have been released countless times, under the auspices of being "digitally remastered"

I can almost compare it to the constant releases that 2Pac has done since 1996. The onyl differences are he's dead and there is actually some (allegedly) new material on there.

Supply gets lower then demand, they reissue it in a slightly new and improved version. It's not exactly a new strategy to screw the fans.
