Hooky's been on about that and the freebass site for a while now, they've never rushed anything so don't hold your breath.

Good point, photo must have been taken at the soundcheck.
Beside needing a major face-lift, it is indeed the closest thing to an official website.
But since there is nothing going on.... 
Hasn't it always been this way?
I remember reading Barney saying that back in their early days, New Order fans (being the enterprising, anally retentive bunch we are) decided to take merchandising issues into their own hands by producing T-shirts and posters in lieu of anything official from the band.
Hit by guilt at making a quick buck from the band (those were the days), the fans offered to give a percentage back to the band, but were turned away by Gretton (and Wilson I would imagine) as it would have compromised the band's band's integrity.
The rest of the band were like "no, we'll have the fucking money". As these were the Factory days, the conceptual shit won out over the vulgar reality of actually making a bit of money.
I sometimes love that they did it this way, and survived for so long, and did actually change things. Think of Factory as an experimental pilot project. We can now, Wilson has told us how to post-rationalise remember!
Other times I think that surely Wilson should have done his homework and knew perfectly well that even Michelangelo, Raphael, and Sandro Botticelli did what they did for cash, and the relationship between art and commerce has forever been intrinsically linked.
As soon as anything touches a mass market emotionally, market forces kick in (unfortunately) and generally fuck it right up.

I would have thought that a band supposedly as cutting edge as NO would have been at the forefront of the internet revolution.
Christ, I even received a free download from Dido the other day. And in return she can receive as many free downloads from me as she likes.
