and i don't know how many years i've been looking for it.. but i finally found a copy of :

I walked into town on my lunchbreak (12pm - 1 pm) on Tuesday May 14th 1985 (had tried the previous Monday but they weren't in) and bought Low Life on vinyl and Perfect Kiss 12" vinyl from Fat City records in Rugby.It was a rainy lunchtime as i recall.Then i went back to work and every opportunity i had (2.17pm, 3.59pm, 4.56pm and 5.17pm) i went and held both of them in my hand and thought hmmm i like the cover of Low Life but i'm disappointed with the plain silver cover of Perfect Kiss.Then finished my day at work, went home , had my tea, then listened to both of them in my bedroom starting at 7.37pm.Beat that, -1 mwahhhahahaha!!!

Also to add, i got home at 6.33pm.Had my tea round 6.57pm (Shephards Pie and then Angel Delight for dessert) Probably coveted again the two Vinyls whilst eating my meal at , ooohh 7.03pm and 7.17pm ?)

I can try and find out what temperature the Shephards pie was at the start and then end of meal. And also the coolage of the Angel Delight.Let me know if you want those readings, -1 I will delve into my May 1985 meal time settings if you need the information/ Can also supply the time it took me to eat

I've found yet another unique version on a Canadian promo 12". It runs for about 6 minutes and is essentially the same as the 4:48 LP mix but doesn't fade out quite as early.

I wonder if there is a full length version somewhere with the "When you are alone..." verse intact?

That would probably the original 12"? Or do you mean some kind of combination of the original 12" with the album intro?

i've been looking for these promos also, but have only found the 12" mix on both sides...they might come on ebay from time to time..

I didn't remaster them actually, I just got them from... let's say from a former 'factory-worker' relation... I got more rare 7" edits (a's and b-sides), some already long before they finally ended up on the 'Singles' compilation, like:

For a long time in the 90's I didn't consider these versions special, but it seems there are still a lot of New order tracks unavavilable on CD, so these tracks become more and more 'little treasures'.

video version is fine because it is a different recording but all these other edits of Perfect Kiss are basically just edits of the same thing, are they not, not really different mixes like the Kiss of Death. Do any of these Perfect Kiss edits really stand out?

if you don't you can hear the edits?

tired of the album version, want something shorter, listen to the 7inch edit..

don't want all the lyrics? listen to the kiss of death..

want something really short? perfect pit..

it just depends on how you feel..

I am a collector as well, and I would like to have - or at least hear once - all the different versions. Sometimes I wonder why they make so many different edits/versions of one particular song, like BLT, TF or TPK. And who's responsible for this; who decides there has to be another edit...??? Questions, questions... we probably never get the answers to...

actually that's pretty easy, you need different versions for the radio, different versions for the club...and for the album.

dj's get special edits..

it's all done as Promotion by the label for the band.

Of course I know there are single edits, long/ extended versions and instrumental/dub versions for radio, club and DJ use. What I mean is there are sometimes tiny differences in some versions, for instance: Bizarre Love Triangle (Shep Pettibone single mix) = (Remixed & Edited) [3:44] Bizarre Love Triangle (Shep Pettibone US promo mix) [3:36] Bizarre Love Triangle (Shep Pettibone video version) [3:53] Bizarre Love Triangle (Shep Pettibone video 'edit' - no sample) [3:44] Bizarre Love Triangle (Shep Pettibone 'Threesome' edit) [3:23]
