I just finished reading Touching From A Distance and Torn Apart and I'm looking for some suggestions on some music related books? My friend will be in England next month and she's going to pick up a couple to bring home for me along with some turkish delights!

"Tape Delay: Confessions from the Eighties Underground" by Charles Neal is a great book. It's a collection of interviews, artwork and writings from some of the more subversive music groups of the 80's. New Order is in there, along with groups and artists like Cabaret Voltaire, Coil, Boyd Rice, Nick Cave, Lydia Lunch, Foetus, etc.

Half way through it - tis is long book, 650 odd pages but a cracking read so far. And because of the book I have been watching all the DVD's that they released....cheers Garymac!!! As well as downloading loads of their early gigs. (76-79)

THE FALLen (searching for the missing members of the Fall) a must for any Fall fans.Only about 30 pages in but its already brilliant !!
Read this years ago but thought I'd recommend it as it covers everything on the whole Manchester scene
