But that section of the track in 'Kiss Of Death' is mixed differently to the same section on the full 12": different levels and effects. I'd certainly be able to notice the difference!

Ehhh... but you didn't a few years ago (nobody did actually), as that part doesn't contain different effects, even though some people think and convince themselves it does! You really should listen and compare again...

Er,... Yes, I Did. I have ears, and noticed that this section in 'The Kiss Of Death' has different levels of volume and effects on the different multitrack elements to the 12" A side ever since I first heard the tracks two decades ago!

You should have another listen fella!

We can always ask [black]-1[/black] to post a graphic of the music again... I remember it was discussed here, but the 'good listeners' were referring to a different "missing" part then. Like me, Andy, you got ears, that's good news. But why do I got the feeling you haven't give it a try again, and keep persisting in the fact these tracks are completely different mixed. After all it has been 2 decades ago now since you've 'noticed' it...

By the way, a lot of New Order fans are saying they hear differences in versions and claim some versions are the same/different..., but still there are so many 'mistakes' in the discography here... I could give a lot of examples, but this is not the place/topic to discuss the discography. :ignore:

Well, it's good to know the full length version - with probably clicks 'n' ticks - is on the Remaster now. I am happy with my version, with no errors... and with me, others were pleased with it too! No hard feelings to those who ignore it, because of allegedly different mixes been mixed up...

Musicoloog, firstly, don't tell me what I have and haven't listen to in the last 20 years!

Secondly, here is an extract from the missing 46 seconds, taken from the original 12" vinyl version: http://www.andrewmorrison.co.uk/mp3/The_Perfect_Kiss_-_Original_12_Inch_-_Excerpt.mp3

Now compare it to an extract from the same section, as it appears in the 12" of 'Kiss Of Death':http://www.andrewmorrison.co.uk/mp3/The_Kiss_Of_Death_-_Excerpt.mp3

As I said, mixed slightly differently, with different levels (listen to the synth pads) and a different "tone" to the same synth pads (probably more low-mid range in their EQ settings, to make certain notes sound warmer), and a bit more reverb added to them, to make them sound slightly more echoey.

So, they are different on the different mixes. I trust my ears.

Thank you.

Thanks for that info. Though the thing that most struck me is just how awful that 'Singles' waveform looks. What were they _thinking_?

And, dammit, I want the greaseproof paper on Low Life. Even if on my vinyl version it wore out and fell off.

Thanks Mr Discography/Andy to the fcuking good effort, It indeed is clearly a difference to hear. That clears it up to me. On the other hand musicoloog/Koen did also a fcuking good job years ago, when he made this edit. It still sound great. So, folks, you both are very important for analyzing all that stuff, ey? :shades: Btw. Andy, I miss the link to the NewOrder page of your homepage, may I beg for it? Thanks, much appreciated!

well don't you think a lot of people have been waiting a long time for these?

do you want to have substandard releases for a group like new order?

hey, i'm happy that you don't care about the quality, or the fact that tracks are messed up...

don't expect the rest of the fans that have been waiting for these to be..

besides, if you actually read any of my posts, i said all the ACTUAL albums are fine, minus a few issues... it's the bonus disks that are causing the big problems..

It's odd you can bitch about these remasters here, but don't dare it at Amazon of the -1 police will come and get you.

don't you think that people on an actual 'new order' board want the truth, and facts, and are going to be super-critical????????

do you think i started complaining about the releases before they actually came out?

i think there were PLENTY of people that had a fixed opinion in before they were released..

at least i got them to give it a chance...

i gave low life 4 stars despite all the issues, (my pro low-life bias, along with the perfect kiss favoritism)...

hows that for being schizophrenic????

but to be fair and honest, i did slam the quality of the bonus discs ..

the rating for most of the remasters seems ok.. except for some guy that gave all them remasters 1 star..

i was generous at times, and pretty harsh at the end:

movement 4 stars pcl 4 stars low-life 4 stars brotherhood 2 stars technique 1 star

technique seems to be getting slammed by others too....its average is : 2 stars

i guess the pro-technique fans haven't voted yet..

You are such a fuckface. I have been reading this site for years and you are the most annoying, arrogant, asshole I have witnessed. You are the reason people hate Americans and *I* am embarrassed that you are from my country.

Fuck you and your arrogant, know it all attitude. Someone needs to bitchslap the hell out of you. If I get banned at least it was worth it to say what 99% of this forum wants to say but cant.

You must be Republican.

jesus, Chad, YOU sound like the Republican.

Just think for one moment, something like, "what if -1 has a bit of asperger's, or OCD, or something?"

Do you really know -1?

Now, -1, I am not insulting you. I am just saying, 'what if'....

What I am saying is that everyone needs to chill out and realize they don't really know what is behind why people post the way they do.

Liberals are pretty accepting and tolerant of that.

Extreme conservatives tend to be less forgiving of such things.

So, Chad, it really is you, as I read over your last post, who comes across as an asshole Bush American.

politics aside..

you attack someone for their viewpoint, with vulgarities, and accusations ...

and you claim i should be banned ??????????..

that's an interesting ideology you have there..

why don't you actually present some points, or counterpoints, and expand the debate, instead of inflaming it with rhetoric?

or better yet, why not ignore it, like most people do?

Really? Since Republicans tell every single American how they MUST think and how they WILL live their lives. I don't recall telling everyone here that there opinion is wrong. Not just one time, but 100s of times -1 always comes back and degrades anyone who has an opinion. He acts as if he is the end all/be all of New Order and anyone else that has any opinion is WRONG. That, my friend, is what Republicans are all about. I am just telling it like it is. Something people in this country are afraid to do these days.

If I am an asshole for standing up to the Forum bully, then so be it. At least I respect your opinion.

I admit to not being the biggest fan of -1's graphs and OCD mastery of song length and such, which -1 is well aware of, because I used to drive him insane on the ceremony list, we had our battles for sure...

BUT,

I honestly have never heard him attack anyone for their views... sure, -1 holds strong opinions and expresses himself confidently, even arrogantly, but i have yet to see him belittle anyone else or demean anyone else.

a bully?

if being in the presence of people with assertive opinions makes you feel upset or diminished in some way, you have more psychological issues than being upset with one NOOL member.....

I see the Jeffrey Bernard sample is back to full volume at the start of This Time Of Night.

Presumably the fact that he's long since dead means he won't be sueing again...

arrogantly? yes. On my Amazon reviews he accuses me of criticisng the reissues for not including tracks that don't exist... tracks I have on 7", 10", and cassette and that there are MP3's of floating around right now!

Oh i dunno, -1 seems more human these days.On the old Temptation site around 1999-2000 he used to talk and type in barcodes!

mark, as you well know... when we are talking about the existence of tracks, i thought it was apparent they EXISTED on vinyl/cassette etc... we all know that, thanks to the many discographies that exist..

that's not the issue..

the point of these remasters, is that they now exist on cd..

i've clarified that several times, but you seem to keep insisting people have access to these old recordings on vinyl/cassette etc...when there are very few people that care to hunt those down, or listen to them in that format anymore...
