Odd question to object to though, unless he just felt it too stupid and/or pretentious to warrant a response.

I don't thinh Bernard has ever been keen to talk about his parents. Even though i've read confusion I still can't be sure what the situation is with his parents.

I don't want to know about his parents, I couldn't care less. My point being that it came up in the book and that I was still unclear as to what the situation was regarding his mum and dad.
