When UNITED did the TREBLE they said it would NEVER EVER be the bettered in MANCHESTER...EVER. Congratulations to NEW ORDER who managed to DO THE QUADRUPLE and NEVER were they BETTER on HOME TURF. To top it all KEITH ALLEN managed to get his photo taken with ROCKET MICK and when BEZ saw me outside the entrance to the NEW ORDER BASH he lost his nerve and stumbled into a POTTED PLANT. There are several witnesses to this who wish to remain anonymous so we shall use fake I-D s. Lets just say HANK WISEASS,SHUGZV,BALDRICK,LIV,TRUMPETTE, I-D,the one and only MAJOR T,and HOOKY were gobsmacked.But thats another story...and as for the one about BUDVAR HUBAR travelling ALL the way from SPAIN to watch NEW ORDER,the DOVE from ABOVE and GEORGE DAWS...HE'S A BABY..ROCKET MICK...well lets just say we are NOT to divulge any details cos this could embarass certain people who post here.By the way next time SHUGZV gives you ANY bother just ask him if that WAS him spotted cruising on CANAL STREET on FRIDAY night.Make of that what you will.A full report can be read in the MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS and GAY TIMES,at any good reputable newsagents soon. You could have Kylie's Can't Get You Outta My Head with the BM samples on one side and BM with the Kylie samples on the other side.

As it looks like the gig was recorded someone should be able to get hold of a decent copy of Saturday's version.

I agree just an awesome gig. Was a real treat to hear 'She's Lost Control' live. Although there were plenty of mistakes; like Barney coming in to early with the lyrics during 'Crystal'. But I like the fact that, despite the technology, things still can be flawed live. I was at the front during some of the gig and everyone was going fucking nuts. Wonderful.

I've a feeling that we may see more of New Orders Move set on video. I won some tickets and a hotel room (Thanks Terry Christian at Century FM). The couple in the next room won as well but also got to meet them, while they were doing so they were interviewed on camera for a documentry that was being made about New Order. There also seemed to be more cameras filming the gig than usuall. As it was one of their best performances ever I hope we do get to see it again.

Gotta echo the hyperbole here: the whole day was wonderful. Christ, it was even bloody sunny!!! Good to meet people at Dukes 92 (nice choice of venue, Jarv), even if the man Jarvis and Jon Scott were off doing documentary stuff when I arrived (can we get some more info. about this, guys??). The Order on top form as well: nearly shat meself when they started with "LV"!!!!

Thanks to Rocket Mick for the great CD (can I get a track list fot this, mate), and sorry I didn't make it to the Roadhouse - after breaking my wrist at Finsbury I completed a double whammy by spraining my wrist after the Order's set. (MENTAL NOTE: Must. Drink. Less.) hence I couldn't drive, etc - so sorry to Marty Gray, Live, Shug etc. - I was gutted.....

Now, who can get me CDs of both Finsbury and Old Trafford, and does anyone have any of those beer tokens spare. New Order beer tokens - you gotta love it.........

Didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to MANCLAND.. That was me actually - interviewing that is. Many thanks to everyone who spoke so eloquently on camera and frankly made my job a very easy and enjoyable one.

I did not expect to be but was granted interviews with Hooky and most notably Barney who spoke very happily to me for some time. Among other things, he talked about their decision to include the Joy Division songs in the set and went on to say that he felt Ian Curtis would have wanted it that way - I felt very lucky indeed I have to say when he did this - hopefully you'll see this "documentary" sometime in the not-so-distant future!

You looked very comfortable on camera Mr Jarvis - especially when stood with the eminently more attractive Paula that is...

Most everyone looked happy to talk to be honest and I can't think of anyone who didn't do the absolute business for me, so thanks again.

The project has nothing to do with Scottish TV per se.

It's a Warner Vision release.

My involvement was consultative and as a link between the filmaker & the fans; a task which I found fairly daunting as I'm painfully aware of my reputation in certain sectors.

I'll transcribe a bit of the Hooky & Barney stuff when I get the guide VHS in the next day or so. The best stuff is genuinely with the fans though. I think almost ALL of whom post(ed) here.

I didn`t miss much then. Talk about parrot fashion, New Order, Booooring. Stadium rock pus. I hate these repetitious, same old set list outings of theirs, seen one seen them all

Totally agree. I'm always one of the first to whinge about band performances, setlists, et cetera, but Saturday was a real treat for those who were there. Fantastic. What a way to round off the past year.

1645Hrs, you should've done BEFORE and AFTER interviews on Saturday; I'd have been a tad more gracious towards New Order in the return leg! ;)

If I remember correctly, Jarvo referred to "Temptation" as being the "soundtrack of my life" so any cynicism wasn't that apparent...

liv_and_let_live, I can see how the setlist reads, but it was a genuine cracker. If you weren't there, you can't really pass judgement. Best thing I've seen this past year.

Stadium rock? I think not; but to achieve such intimacy on a large scale was a touch of pure brilliance on the part of New Order.

Youre probably right. Being stuck in this fuckin hell hole for another 6 months, who could blame me for gettin uptight! The performances over here in Sydney and Perth were really lack lustre and then to travel to finsbury and get that washed out feelin, man what luck! The one that got away. Cest la vie
