On a quick scan of topics I didn't see this listed...

I've never seen this hit ebay before and have only read the stories about the infamous 7" mix on here. I remember the days when people used to beg for someone to rip it to mp3 but those who had it deemed themselves too righteous to share.

Hopefully for grins someone will buy this and rip it properly this time:

I'd be interested in this edit, if of course it was ripped properly.

I ripped it a couple of years ago and sent it to Spotnick to put up for download - but I don't think he ever did.

Is it the same as the one on Excerpts from Recycle?

I used to have a very low bitrate MP3 copy of the supposed Japanese 7" edit and the one on Excerpts is pretty much identical from what I can remember. I believe the one on Excerpts is a home made fan edit (CD sourced) aping the flow of Japanese Edit hence why there are no crackles etc; overall a very faithful recreation.

That said, any fan with a semi-decent wave editor and a mountain of patience can create their own Japanese 7" Edit from any recent mastering of BM. Electronic tracks with repetitive beats are usually fairly simply to cut down and rearrange (see Razormaid's entire career regarding "remixes").

As for the 7" itself... I can understand why it's rare but I would never (and I do collect) pay hundreds let alone thousands of quid for a bit of dusty vinyl.

No ta.

Good luck to whoever has the cash (and the balls!)

For that money, I'd rather go on holiday - to Australia! :)

You guys sure are suckers, i picked up a 7" of Blue Monday 88 in Cork, Ireland in England for less than 40 bucks. You Brits must have crazy money to spend when you should be thatching your roofs and protecting your babies from cholera and TB.

Incidentally, how do you get internet in england?
