Joy Division - the Musical!

This is a link to a thread that I started on the Mojo forum in order to annoy a troll called Curtis80 who posts there insisting that Ian Curtis was God, basically, and that everything else apart from Joy Division is rubbish. As you’ll see, this one really got him upset (he calls other musicians “smelly hippies”, which explains a couple of my references) so I decided to take it the full distance.

Joy Division - the Musical!

A basic knowledge of Factory matters is all you’ll need, but many of the references are there for aficionados, simply because I know that Curtis80 doesn’t know a lot about his specialist subject.

Incidentally, I had this musical idea years before Ben Elton and the rest of ‘em. Me and my friend Mark Sheldon plotted a musical based on the songs of The Move whilst we were in the sixth form, over 20 years ago.

Wow....WHAT A BELL-END>

Tell him whatever you like, but get him over to NOOL, we could do with a fucktard to abuse.

In the current climate I'd copyright it!

I'll have a go, but it's being suggested that his presence on the Mojo boards has more to do with trying to unseat other members than anything to do with Joy Division.

Have a look at this thread (might take a while to load up, as it's the full lot on one page, but Curtis80 pops up just after my post #195281 of 12/01/08 at 03:25 PM). I resurrected this old thread for his benefit.

Off over there now, to link back to NOOL. Let's hope he takes the bait...

Oh, he's got "NOOL cabaret" written right through him like a stick of rock.

I can't help wondering what he'd think of a disrespectful cunt who when asked "who's the laziest member of the band?" replied "Ian Curtis, he's done nothing for 14 years". And I wonder if he'd convey his judgement to the face of the gentleman in question.

I don't think he'd even recognise him!

Which could be interesting, in the right circumstances...

Like Dave, i'm a regular on the Mojo boards, and i can confirm Curtis80 is a tool.

Didn't realise this place existed. I might stick around.

Fookin ell, Spenny, I just assumed I must have mentioned it somewhere, youth!

Still, I have now. Just don't tell anyone you're really happy with those New Order reissues, and you've never heard anything like their sonic perfection...

The musical's one the funniest things I've read in years.

Plus a person who seriously believes a band's output can be influenced by nothing and just happen out of the blue like a Big-Bang (he's got it all wrong about the Big Bang anyway) cannot possibly be taken seriously anywhere.

Cheers for the welcome.

As Dave says, he doesn't actually seem to be interested in the music of Joy Division, and there's plenty, myself included, who would love to have a decent conversation with him, find out where he's at. But he seems more interested in the Nazi connotations and how Ian killed himself than anything else. Looks like he's been banned, but he'll be back under a different alias.

Anyhow, those NO reissues? Sonic perfection or what?

You should worry. If Paul Young accepts my offer of a role in the production then I won't be able to go out on the streets any more!

dudes

all this sh*t about musicals and goddam Paul Young is just totally disrespectful. You all claim to be fans of Joy Division but your not fit to lick Ian's headstone. They are the true originators, anything before or after do not count. You guys don't know Ian like i know him, he is a god, who saw the true sadness that engulfs the world. If he were alive now i would hold him, caress him and stroke his hair. I WISH I COULD HAVE THEM ALL TO MYSELF, but unfortunately their CDs are available or scum like you to buy, but you're undeserving of their shining majesty. OOOhhhh i'm really mad now, i could rape a weasel!!!

Show some goddam respect you english spunk-bubbles else i'll kick your arse.

p.s. I took Ian's headstone y'hear, me!!! Because you're all not fit to worship this deity

p.p.s New Order are gay house music for gays

p.p.p.s show respect! :nono:

So that's what you've been doing with it, is it?

Don't you think it's about time you took it back?

So, apparently the guy's one of those whackos who'll top themselves online because they heard the calling from above or whatever.

Either that or he's just got a whole lot of time on his hands.
