I don't think they've ever claimed it as their idea have they? Neither have they claimed they invented electronic music or any of the other rubbish which flies around.

Kraftwerk were the 1st bad I really got 'into' in a big way.Even now no one who has played or produced 'electronic' music has come anywhere near to what they did.

Not only that, is it even accepted that it's really a good idea at all? I personally think it's not so cool to show the fact that it's the computers running the show up there if the synthesis of human and computer elements is what makes the music so great. That said I think New order walk off stage in the Taras video with Temptation still going and that's 1981 as well.

"New Order rip-offs?" Yeah, right! Kraftwerk are GODS!

There's an irony here: Kraftwerk said that, although Computer World was about the impact computers were having internationally at the time, they didn't actually own one!

They also were keen on the idea of not performing in person either; just sending the mannequin robots out on tour or staging a gig at Kling-Klang and then beaming it to cinemas worldwide. That's yet to happen although it would be interesting if they ever decided to retire from the live stage. Personally I'd always love to see them live again, having seen them several times live. They damned near unbeatable!
