Hey guys, I just heard 1963, and I was thinking about the lyrics for the first time....

What the hell is he talking about?

Did Bernard really kill someone?

I think the police should look into this.

I don't know if the song has been discussed here, but it really should be....

Is it a gay love song between Barney and Johnny Marr?

Well that explains Electronic then.

I always thought it might have been about the legendary Fulham footballer, Johnny Haynes. Allegedly he had a dressing room bust up at Craven Cottage in 1963, after missing a penalty.

The then manager, Jimmy Hill launched into him over half time oranges, and Johnny allegedly, whipped out a sawn-off in the shower. We all know Jimmy Hill's reply.

All the other lyric references in the song are euphemisms for Mr Haynes' failed attempts at not hitting the net. The game was apparently against Burnley, my sources tell me.

1963? I've never heard this song despite having many rare New Order itens (I have great collection including 88 copies of Community CD, thanks to "special connection" at place where i work).

Somebody send me PM with (cough) link (cough), please. :D
