sure it does ;) but it is also the title of a realaudio track on my harddisc. I downloaded the file a few years ago. According to the information it is an NO song. Who can help me on this one. Is it some kind of demo?

What's it sound like ? There were two fake synth dancey tracks going round in about 1985 that were supposedly New Order that went by the names "Love Dance" and "Love Kills". There was also a live guitar jam done in Auckland in 1985 that was referred to on the bootleg as "Love Juice".
No I'm not going to sing! :D
It is possibly a fake, as mentioned above. The song sounds very much like NO in 1983, with a harmonica as used in YSF. They even use the bassguitar like Hooky. The singer is definitely not Bernie. But maybe they used a guest vocalist?

hmm, must be the typical British humor.

But is it New Order ? Or someone deliberately trying to sound like them ? The 85 Hacienda bootleg tapes contained these two tracks on the end, and were fakes, as I referred to earlier.

Well, it's defo not Barney singing, though the rest of the track does sound incredibly New Order like.
It's by a band called 'The Bridge'.

Don't think I ever had it on a Hac bootleg, but did pick it up on a couple of others. Not heard it in years, and can't remember the lyrics properly but remember there was a tail-off which went 'then walk away, walk ... away' or something.
'Love Juice' by the REAL New Order was much better, IMO. Smells like shell ... fish!

Wasn't it "Stale Fish" ?
:D yes Al, I am still harping on about 'Love Dance'. Being a long-standing member of this site Jarvo hopefully you will also recollect that nobody ever put this niggle to bed. I still contest that 'Love Dance' is New Order, I cannot believe anyone can sound so similar if that is the alternative.
Only Snake Briggs came close to providing evidence disputing NO as the originators (he claimed he knew who the band were). Unless anyone can prove otherwise, to me, Love Dance is a NO track and a rare one at that. Only ever seen it on cassette, my mate had a copy and stupidly I didn't tape it off him - at the time I wasn't keen on the quality and thought a copy would have been even worse. I cannot remember if it had NO written on it, I think he ordered via one of the regular NO fanzines, maybe 'Last Orders'? ... actually, now I think about it there was a few different versions on the cassette.

I'll dig it out and have a listen tonight. Maybe someone could ask the band themselves ? Don't certain people have the privilege of contact ?

I'll have one from the top and five others then please Carol :)
for those interested, I've uploaded the song to this place: http://httpd.chello.nl/n.visser21/neworder/neworder\_lovekills\_demo.rm
To play it you have to use RealAudio player. One remark: I didn't change anything to this file.
I'm very interested in your reactions. greetz Nanne

Originally posted by Easy E Yes this is the one I meant. Fake, deliberately done to sound like a new New Order track.
Ok, thanx for your info. But you have to admit that this a very good attempt to copy NO.
