Just heard a snippet of Brendan Sun's bands cover of "Age Of Consent" A world premiere fer The Shugster guys and gals:D

Unfortunately it's not available to send out, due to this track being featured on a forthcoming CD, but can I just say, if the rest of the CD is of the quality of this track, it'll be a must have fer fans :nod:

:clap: Nice one Brendan, as usual with cover versions, I was expecting the worst :lol: Although it was strange not hearing Barney singing, this track was great, the music was second to none, and although the singing isn't of The Barnsters standard it's still a great effort :nod:

Any plans on doing any other versions matey? Thanks again 9 outa 10

I have listened to this several times and will do a full review this weekend. But i would just like to say at this point that i enjoyed the singing on this but feel i need to play a few more times before fully reviewing.I am critical when it comes to NEW ORDER and usually try not to make snap decisions.Therefore i would like to extend this courtesy to BRENDAN as he has been kind enough to let me listen. :cool2: ROCKET MICK OBE not NME. :lol:

I have HAD a fantastic day today and as you may of noticed i have not been posting much cos i have been out enjoying the magnificant weather and visiting some brilliant beauty spots around this region.Due to ALL those mad cyclists in the COMMONWEALTH GAMES i could not go to RIVINGTON so i went to a place called WHITE COPPICE.Here this is a PROPER beauty spot with a secluded and most beautiful CRICKET GREEN.On one side of the pitch are 4 white cottages ,one side there is a lake and then the rest is rugged moorland.So good is this place that the BBC have used it in a classic SERIAL that they do.The teams playing were out on the field and one was DARWEN were i originally come from.Some of the guys i used to go drinking with years ago and so it was really pleasent.I then followed a stream into an OLD MINING AREA and bathed in this cool water.I was with my girlfriend and her dog TASHA.A YORKSHIRE TERRIER this dog goes ALL over with me as i have plenty of time on my hands.I track deer and we find plenty of rare wildlife to view.My girlfriend is a WILDLIFE lover(no puns..i can hear you! :D) and will do anything to help and preserve the countryside.Anyhow i digress,not having any :beer: today i am able to enjoy the evening with no worries of the HANGOVER in the morning.It is at this time i am again listening to BRENDAN's tune.Very exciting it is to hear someone from this sites BAND and a pleasure to have the oppurtunity to listen to a great track and chill out.I am in too good a mood to be able to fully give a considered and full review tonight cos i feel i want some fun and be silly.So the review will be complete SUNDAY/MONDAY but i am enjoying this immensely.Sometimes i am almost normal which can be very scary and so back to ORBIT and ROCKET MICK! :lol: I am thinking about complaining to the neighbours who are having a BBQ across the way.Their daughter is one today.Trouble is the music is to bloody QUIET and no way will the police be round cos non of the DEALERS i know are there.What a bad way to bring up yer kids!Still musn't grumble cos my GOLDFISH is 6 soon and we are having a WATER PARTY. :wink:

I usually am dubious about covers of the ORDER.But when i got this it was a GREAT surprise.This starts in a flourish and although the guitars on the original are not heard the SYNTH'S are superb.The voice is indeed an added plus cos like the original there is still enough of the rawness but in tune just like BARNEY was attempting on POWER,CORRUPTION and LIES.So in truth IMHO i think is a bloody good track and the backing vocals is a BRUCIE BONUS.:D Thanks for letting me hear this BRENDAN. :clap: :clap: .I keep singing to myself BIRDS AND THE BEES.... :singer: NOOL's will enjoy this as much as i have.This review has been done whilst i am sober to protect the innocent. :lol: BTW some great added little keyboard sounds in there and the drumming HOLDS everything together nicely.But when it finishes i am then waiting for WE ALL STAND to kick in!:D Well done and this should help you to STARDOM.This is the WAY,STEP INSIDE..... You know, just if you get chance, I wouldn't want to pull you away from walking in the fields and meadows around Manchester analyzing small woodland creatures and various BBC film locales.

It's been said above but just to reaffirm, for anyone who hasn't downloaded and heard this ... it is worth it. A truly commendable version breathing more life into this great song. Quite how NO manage to make 2 chords last so long is anyone's guess (quality of melodies?). Needless to say an excellent version, effortlessly simple, soulful and well produced. Was Hooky's bass guitar actually used?

It's hard not to think that this would not top most current bands' efforts at a NO cover. Maybe something to do with being an Order fan. I do hope so.

Hey Mick, I didn't notice that you said this until our drummer pointed it out the other day. Im actually playing the guitar parts that are in the original and throwing in some extra chords throughout the song on my guitar but Im using a synthesiser effect on the guitar that makes it sound very synthy !! :guitar:

Yes what i meant was right at the beginning it sounds VERY different but this is not to deter from the TRACK.I just wanted you know i had been playing yours then theirs and then checking and there is NOT much difference in QUALITY and effect on both takes.Shows that i was just telling it as i heard it which is probably slighty different for each person.NO LOUD GUITAR....LOVELY SYNTH so a bonus for me!:D Cheers....have you received anything yet ...must be a week since i sent it! Also this has just been put onto a CD mix i have done for HUNTSMAN with all his choice of mixes he had not got.Does not sound out of place and this has NOT been sent out to the NOOL's.Will send you a copy if you like cos there is some classic rare 7/12/CD mixes on it.FAC ALL MIX it is called and just sent today to HUNTSMAN...about 10 mins ago actually.:D Cheers ROCKET MICK
