hello,
maybe this question has been asked a few times, but i'm searching for the source of "temptation '98". as usual with mp3s, people don't tag them, and organisers like me like to know where stuff comes fro.
anyway, it's 4:06 in length. www.niagara.edu/neworder mentions a bit about a promo, but it is not sure. of course, it could be from the 316 dvd, but there is no crowd noise or anything -- it doesn't sound live.
does anyone have the whereabouts of this track?

It's the song New Order performed for the closing ceremony of the 1998 Commonwealth Games, when they introduced Manchester as the next host, so they were performing it from Manchester to promote the games.
The song was played live in the streets (the video is online here), but the sound was recorded in studio, only Bernard was really doing something there (singing).. but there is a full studio version which was available on the 3 16 DVD, but it was also available elsewhere because someone gave us a copy a while ago of the original studio version...

The track comes from a Warner Records promo that wasn't very largely distributed -- it may have been an in-house promo.
I got it from a nice soul living in Singapore!

...anyone noticed the video images for this version on the 316 DVD being 'doctored' with images from the Reading 98 footage... and we ended up only seeing about 10 seconds of the actual footage from street version ( when Barney was actually wearing a white shirt, instead of that blue Tee on Reading..)
The original "source" for this track was a London Records Europe-Only promotional boxed set called "Collected" - various artists and VERY few copies...I pulled strings like the hangman at Nuremburg and couldn't get a copy so do your best!
