I heard this German song some time ago, it´s called Sumisu and sung by Farin Urlaub. I do not know whether you´ve heard it but I reckon it´s an amusing piece of New Order Spotting. So here it goes to celebrate my newly acquired technique:
(Let me clear my voice first)
![]()
Translates roughly as:
Black were our days black were our shirts at the schoolyard we would always be the ones in the corner exchanging deeply disappointed looks
And always, when we were sad (and sad we were quite often) we would go back home to listen to the Smiths
Our nights were lonely our hearts heavy no one was able or willing to understand us so we became closer
And always, when we were sad (and sad we were quite often) I would take you in my arms to listen to the Smiths
Sometimes too The Cure or New Order but for the most part The Smiths
He should have listened to New Order more often, he would have been happier!
Any memories awaken?
Cheers to Marco for the lead on the singer, apologies for the cheap translation.
