no offense to people in madison WI or indiana, but when 24 hour party people hits the states in august, would'nt you choose to debut it in Chicago? It is one of the biggest cities in the country and i think it will do better in terms of # of people going to see the movie in chicago compared to our neighbors wisconsin and indiana. just doesnt make sense. please understand i am not bashing WI or IN, i just want to see the movie asap. i guess ill have to drive to Madison.

I had the same thought. Very strange it is. I work at a movie theater in Northbrook and 24hpp is listed on our release schedule. I'll have to investigate this more. It's very likely that the film will make its way to theaters in the area like Pipers Alley or Evanston cinearts. btw kamar khan, your radio show is excellent! -John
Guys, I know you're excited but you really don't have to see this movie right away. It's only a decent film with very little New Order and a distracting narration. I was very disappointed after waiting in line when it debuted here in Seattle during the Film Festival. More disappointing than The Beach.
I've been patiently anticipating the film waiting for the film to hit the states ever since I first learned about the production, and I was also annoyed that It's not debuting in my area! I can really understand not debuting in my city, Baltimore, but Washington DC just south of me, I can't see why It is not showing there! It not the biggest, but one of the larger markets in the states. Its not even showing in Philadelphia! I dunno. Regardless, I'm not really expecting an Oscar caliber film, just want to see it!
I've seen and I found it very funny in parts and some of it very moving.
I wasn't disappointed and neither was my girlfriend who isn't big on Factory records and knew very little about them until she'd seen the film.

and I'm kind of confused as well...why is San Antonio the first city in Texas to get it???
I mean, Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston are both larger metro markets...and Austin is the king of the Texas music scene...and probably the most likely city in Texas to attract an audience, so what gives???
London Records must have had something to do with this half-baked release schedule, seeing as they really can't seem to get anything right when it comes to the order!!!!
I think the group thrives on the cult status thing. Why else would you a:)have a limited release of the movie, b:)no full scale tour in the US to support GetReady, c:)not release the 316 dvd in the states? My guess is that 24hr pp gets the 316 dvd treatment for the US..
Come on guys, this movie has nothing to do with London Records or whatever evil entity you want.
I think the reason it's so limited is because there isn't a lot of theatre that wanted to show it.
This is obviously not the blockbuster of this summer, where will they be able to show Men In Black 2, Road to Perdition and other blockbuster if they had to show a brit movie? :D
(And it's worst here, because those blockbuster are available in TWO languages so taking twice the amount of screens!)
