24HPP in Melbourne - sold out tonight

Just an FYI, if you were planning on coming to the screening of 24HPP tonight in Melbourne without pre-purchased tickets, you will be turned away - I have been reliably informed that this session has sold out. Not sure of the status of the next screening, but I'd advise to buy tickets for this sooner rather that later... CTB

The film was fantastic, but I'm not sure the rest of the audience thought so (average age was about 50, and too much swearing and drugs for the couple in front of me, who left in disgust when the Mondays appeared!)I won't do the full review here (coz it's been done on this site already), but needless to say that the JD bit was great, nowhere near enough NewOrder and too much of the Mondays. Special nods for Coogan and the fella who played Rob Gretton, both were ace. See it if/when you can! CTB

Us Sydney siders are missing out eh ? The movie has been showing in Melbourne, also started screening in New Zealand this week ... Wonder how long we'll have to wait ... I want to see it even more after CTB's comments !!

..And our Harry capped it off with a nice little net-finder. Terrific! Look forward to him and all the Leeds Aussies taking part in multiple friendlies against Tonga and Christmas Island at vital moments during the course of the season...

CTB proves yet again that the NO faithful recognise quality when they've sat munching popcorn throughout it. Rob Gretton (the actor who played him) was truly outstanding. For all those who have still yet to see this film, do not hesitate, it is a must, a veritable collectors item of Factory nostalgia. A great shame The Smiths didn't show for this gig, big Moz is obviously still a tricky customer with copious levels of sardines on his head.

If the cinema is full again, 'Dude Where's My Car' is an excellent alternative.

I haven't seen it yet, the film that is (fortunately I have a picture of the Aardvark). Evidently it is meant to be good. Teen-flicks ain't my thang though DepthChariot so don't sweat the narrative too much cats up the pipe in the wild man dood - go figure. Best film this year hasn't been released yet, in fact, I doubt it ever will. This year has been an awful year for films. Apart from 24hr PP which was the most outstanding release of this year.

Wasn't 'Dude Where has my Vehicle been Clamped' out last year? ... its in our video shop anyway - does Australia always get films late? ... have you got 'E.T.' The Extra Polite Pedestrian yet? - its got a great scene where some lads fly off on BMX's chasing a brown worm in a bucket.

Which number of Police Academy are you up to up your way, Hunchback? Have you cracked "Assignment: Miami" yet?

So Candy, just let me get this straight...You had the first Oz showing of 24HPP and Leeds United playing in Melbourne on the same day?.I declare it THE greatest day in the history of Melbourne since...well, since you met me & Al J at The Metro in February ;)

Not only that JG, to my knowledge this was the first screening outside the UK of the film (except Cannes, natch). Meeting you and Old Man Jarvis was a thrill to behold at that gig in the Metro (what was the band again??). Obviously as I went to the film on Saturday, I couldn't attend the 'big match' between Leeds U and Coca-cola, but methinks that was a wise choice on my part.. Depthy, big up for the 500, sorry I wasn't around to see it. I am guessing that 500 includes posts on the "General Chat" forum too.. CTB

The last Police Academy monstrosity I witnessed was one which the advertisement proclaimed, 'The Police Academy are off to Russia ... to kick some Butt-ski!'. (Also known as 'Mission to Mos-caw').

I think that says it all.
