Just caught this lot on Youtube.... From the US I believe...
They make an effort on the guitar a bit during the opening of Ceremony. Get a drummer and a bassist!
And then at some point, someone bought some keyboards, but still no bloody drums or bass:

And if you are going to do so many NO covers and NOT be a tribute band, then why bother doing them so differently?

That's a really good point about doing so many covers. However, I also believe in encouragement and positive criticism, rather than calling out somebody as completely bad. But do what you will - free country.
Sumner strained his voice for years to sing songs live and on recordings, and a lot of us fans recognized it as an appealing quality of new order. Yet, there are plenty who have said it is 'shite'. So how do you get to seeing it as a great thing unless you have an open mind, which as a new order fan, you no doubt have, eh?

I think the problem here is that i see songs I grew up with being murdered.
I've heard many NO covers in my time.. some are good, they add a little something.
eg Bizarre Love Triangle.
Some are f_____ awful, like this one.

Then you've got the faithful cover version, which sounded much better if you were there.
And back to the band which this thread was about. They don't know what they want to be. Cover band or reworking originals(which they clearly aren't too good at doing) BLT again, but this sounds like a piss poor Re:Order. The synthetic drums are awful.
What an awesome set of examples, and I had to laugh just watching them. I agree that it's hard to hear songs that you love get handled badly. It's just like when someone remakes your favorite films. I'd be incredibly pissed off the day a Hollywood studio greenlights a remake of 2001 or Blade Runner.
Personally, I wish there were a lot less cover songs and tribute bands out there. It's great to have the influence, but it would be a better use of your time and effort to put that influence into an original song.
This dolphin band in the original post clearly has some sort of style - that indie-rock, quaint, jazzy, indescribable thing. They aren't my cup of tea, but I think they could go on to do well with original songs with their minimal setup rather than making covers of all these New Order songs. So, maybe they are bad as a tribute band, but probably better going on with their own material.
Of course, everyone learns to play music by playing other people's songs - that's just how learning happens. I suppose it's just expected that on a New Order board, you're going to find the covers posted left, right and center.
Just some kids playing in front of their friends, just trying to be like a novelty folk/lounge type thing. Not terribly engaging, and the vocalist has little to no stage presence, whatever, maybe he will get better someday. Of course their internet face is basically just New Order covers. I'm not sure if their "album" is original songs or not.

Who the hell included Re:Order in this list? 
I traveled to England to see them lol (ok ok, there were also 2 New Order concerts and Peter Hook was DJing after them, so... and it was Community 2's launch with the box of CDs lost in the mail that I still wonder what happened to them lol)

I was just using them as an example on how to do a proper faithful cover of BLT. They weren't sposed to relate to the thread title.

I don't think they'd count as a tribute band... I've seen some of reorder's clips online, and they sounded pretty good.
