Hi all , i have just recieved the following item from New Orders p.r.

     NEWS FLASH\*\*\*\*\* NEWS FLASH\*\*\*\*\* NEWS FLASH\*\*\*\*\* NEWS FLASH\*\*\*\*\* NEWS FLASH

New Order’s Bernard Sumner announces new project

Bad Lieutenant, a new group put together in 2007 by New Order’s Bernard Sumner (guitar and vocals) alongside Phil Cunningham (guitar) and Jake Evans (guitar and vocals) are pleased to confirm they have completed their long awaited debut LP, which is set for release in autumn this year.

Together, the band have spent over a year writing, recording and mixing the album near Manchester, drafting in additional musicians including Stephen Morris and Alex James. Song titles and live dates will be announced in due course. A new single is expected to be released prior to the LP.

Weird... this should be coming out, then, around the same time as Werner Herzog's/Nic Cage's "reimagining" of Bad Lieutenant [briefly] hits [a few] theaters.

I'm grateful just for the fact that any of them are still willing to make music in some form. (Of course if it's too rubbish...well, whatever.)

My mate Matt Wood plays banjo and did a recording session for Bernards new project (at the time not named) over a year ago. It'll be interesting to see if he appears on the final product....

...Freebase seems it could only go one of two ways, really damn good, or *ahem* Revenge... i trust yer word if you say its awesome. I'll be looking out for it and pick it up as its worth risk in purchasing I think; Bad Lieutenant on the other hand....
