I'm looking forward to it, as Monaco was the best NO side project. Honestly, i could care less about Bad lieutenant, think it'll be a less-than-average side project...

...Freebase seems it could only go one of two ways, really damn good, or *ahem* Revenge... i trust yer word if you say its awesome. I'll be looking out for it and pick it up as its worth risk in purchasing I think; Bad Lieutenant on the other hand....

Freebass!!:thumb:

Are you sure he'd rather not go with Reservoir Dogs?

I hear Steve and Gillian have a new project too-- they're allegedly billing themselves as "The Piano."

I wonder if Steve will be exposing his drumstick?

New Order’s Bernard Sumner announces new project

Bad Lieutenant, a new group put together in 2007 by New Order’s Bernard Sumner (guitar and vocals) alongside Phil Cunningham (guitar) and Jake Evans (guitar and vocals) are pleased to confirm they have completed their long awaited debut LP, which is set for release in autumn this year.

Together, the band have spent over a year writing, recording and mixing the album near Manchester, drafting in additional musicians including Stephen Morris and Alex James. Song titles and live dates will be announced in due course. A new single is expected to be released prior to the LP.

Isn't 'awesome' just the American word for 'nice'?!

The Eskimos have got two billion words for 'snow' and the American just describe absolutely anything they quite like as 'awesome'.

Just saying, like. :\ohwell:

That's awesome. It seems like a long time since Threebass was announced. Hooky always does cool stuff, even Revenge. So does Barney. Hmm, why don't they form a band?

Not only that, but given the breakup, it wouldn't surprise me that both Barney & Hooky might feel a competitive fire lit under them to each outdo the other. Could result in two excellent projects.

Or at least one fire lit, and one excellent project.

What will Bad Lieutenant be like? What do you really expect at this point?

Will Bad Lieutenant be more of a indie-ish rock album? Will there be dance remixes? Some attempt at dated pop? Will Bernard's ego be out of whack because he has surrounded himself with "yes men"? Is there an outside producer to help balance Bernard out? Will there be guest vocalists? Will there be more horrible female backing vocals that Bernard seems to think "improve" his songs? Will there be a few songs written by Bernard with the rest of the songs by the other guy? Bernard has had questionable taste since after the Factory era. Maybe he will have more cheesy songs like Run Wild, which he seems to love.

This record could be somewhat interesting or could be the worst record Bernard has ever done.

Somehow I would not be surprised if most of the world does not give a shit about Bad Lieutenant. Maybe Bernard will offer some surprises, but I would keep expectations on the lower side.

A piss up is as good a reason as any - it'll probably be the only reason, though! :evil4:
