With both I'm really just curious and not expecting much. Who knows what these will sound like.
I suppose the worst that Freebass could be is kinda boring, but then I don't have high expectations as far as the song writing. Will it rock? Will it be rather experimental or more conventional?
With Bad Lt. it's hard to tell what the end product will be. Will it sound like another Sumner record or not? Is Bernard inpired or not? Is everybody there a yes-man to Bernard? I would not be surprised if this new record was the worst album of Bernard's career. Maybe it will be a surprise.
As far as most of the world is concerned, I doubt many care much. Freebass does sound cooler, at least a different type of "supergroup".

Will probably show up for Bad Lootennant gigs if Steve Morris really is on board (and if that smug twat James isn't). But I can't see myself buying any t-shirts.
Barney's cashed his cheque long ago. Hooky still rocks.

Freebass ! I heard a clip from an interview of a track with Tim Burgess on vocals and it sounded ace!
...heard sink or swim and I found it quite weak.

Would be interesting if both bands end up playing similar festivals on the same dates... I would then expect some on stage jabs.

I also have a vague memory of Monaco being on the same bill as New Order in 1998 when they did Reading Festival as "very special guests" for Garbage...

Interesting! I wonder if any on stage unpleasantries were mouthed off then. Trivial I'm sure, but with the interview and myspace jabs here and there today, the tension could certainly be high if both bands were to play same date and venues. Will make for passionate performances at least.
Freebass,just mainly because I love hearing Hookys' bass. If the Sink Or Swim track is anything to go by,it just seems as tho' it's veering down the HNWYD MOR road for me,ok but hardly exciting.& the lyrics were trite too :\ohwell:
