This is the promo copy and the artwork for it, I hope it is not the album cover because it looks very very bad.
Never Cry Another Tear, (Promo) the envelope

i think it is pretty sweet.
i was expecting far worse.
it doesn't say much, is pretty sterile, but so was Unknown Pleasures and other cover art related to Sumner.
just glad there is no photo of the band...
:)
Hmm.. are there actually promos out with only 10 tracks? I notice the running order is slightly different, too.
Obviously (and sadly) it will spread like wildfire on mp3 torrent sites, so I suppose it makes sense not to 'promo' the complete album, and only make the 12 track (or 14 track) version available on actual release.
Just got my promo today, it's not black at all, full white, 10 tracks and numbered.. apparently watermarked.
I love the artwork, very minimal, looks fantastic. I think Bernard designed it, wasn't there a recent interview where he talked about producing the record and designing the artwork?

I would say 4!
Oh go on then...and the OTHER OTHER 2?![]()
Can't say I'm arsed either way about the artwork.
Do like the idea they've got themselves a 'logo' though - that 'bL' thing is dead clever and rather user-friendly. Simple and stylish. Much better than New Order's big orange 'N o'.
Am I the only one upset with this BLACK & WHITE cover sleeve, I could make this myself on the computer, this is so simple with no effort put into it, I was expecting a nice BRITISH type NEW ORDERISH type of colorful artwork like the other NO cd's, I am very VERY very VERY upset at this sleeve, let's hope that it is only a promo cover because if it is the offical cover that it is beyond horrible. No effort was put in this sleeve cover and when people see it in the store thay won't even bother to look at it or pick it up.
The BL logo is good and I am not complaning about that.
yeah, the Unknown Pleasures cover sucks because it is black and white.
haven't i already set you straight on this a page back?
who cares if you can make it on your pc?

seems like i've been here before....
the Unknown Pleasure cover is very original and amazing and it is very hard to replicate.

but the cover for the new BL is very bland and nothing original about it, the logo is nice, but the right hand of the sleeve is just a scribble in black, please VERY VERY VERY DISSAPOINTING.

It reflects Barneys lyrical style.
The cover is what's showing up on Amazon, so I guess it's official.
It is a TERRIBLE cover. Everything about it, the type, the logo, the inane scribble, the general blandness and cheapness of it all. But ESPECIALLY that MS Paint scribble, W.T.F?!!??! It looks like a parody of graphic design.
I'm really not that bothered as the music is what counts, but still... ![]()

Yer a lucky, lucky lad.
I think the Freebass cover sleeve is much better then the Bad Lieutenant cover, at least it has color and something to it.
Freebass cover sleeve.
Bad Lieutenant cover sleeve.

Just goes to show how little covers matter, cause the music on the Bad Lieutenant LP is vastly superior.
and, seriously, Linus, are you STILL having issues about lp covers not having color? are you really still upset that Unknown Pleasures was black and white? Should they have added in some tropical birds to make them better? ![]()

Well, OK then Linus, here you go - hope these make you happy! Just print them out and glue them on top of your old CDs or LPs.... ENJOY!

Maybe that's the visual direction they (BL) are heading towards. You know, black and white, keep it simple and clean. For example, the music video for Sink or Swim featured a white background, and the band members wearing blackish clothes.
Anyway, I like that kind of aesthetic, although I do know not everyone will like it.

I think it's sharp, keeps the focus on the band/music as opposed to the sleeves. It's alot better than the "Raise The Pressure" cover by miles, too much colour and little substance.
