How bloody mentalist is this ........

My CD of Brotherhood recently came to an untimely end (it fell onto the bbq - don't even ask) and so i fired up amazon and utilising one-click ordered it in about .6 of a narno-second.

This morning there was a knock on the door from the postie, and he passed to me a parcel from Amazon, opened it up and put it straight onto the cd player and begin to read the Indy. Everything goes swimmingly until end of CD. That majestic canchophony of sound with the needle scratch (i have yet to hear any other album end in such perfect manner) comes to its crescendo and i think i'll put the TV on........................................................................................................................AND THEN SOTN STARTS UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why ?????? Do London Records hate them that much

actually, i'd like to know how you managed to BBQ your cd. does it give out any fumes? was it fun to clean up the mucked up plastic? :skeptical:

and i'm not quite sure i understand what happened to your new cd. there was just a weird noise at the end of it? oh well, i never really trusted buying stuff over the internet, there's a kind of security that you have when there's no middle-man time between when you pay for the cd and when you get it.

SOTN following the perfect ending ELC would be enough for me to chuck my cd in the barbecue as well!

I've stated before how I despise this track, not in the sense that it's a terrible song ala Shellshock but that it just doesn't fit with either of the formats it's been sold with (Substance or some versions of Bro'hood), so I can imagine your angst at recieving such a bastardization of the original goods.

But that brings up an interesting point: With all the cd reissuing of classic albums with either bonus material or different mixes of the classic songs, how long is it until London decides to redo New Order's back catalog. Sure, there's a boxed set supposed to come out to take care of the singles, but record companies don't stop there usually. Look at how many times Elvis Costello's lps have been reissued with 'bonus' material (I just got my hands on the '96 reissue of This Year's Model when I saw a double-disc edition of the same being released last year), so obviously at some point we may be looking for a "Low-life Special Edition" with the b-sides of singles attached, different mixes on Face-up or Subculture, or a track devoted to Barney blowing his nose. Does the reissue of old albums with bonus material seem like a wise thing for New Order, or does it just line the pockets of the record company fat cats while we get left with substandard or downright atrocious songs tacked on to great albums?

ah, they're just too cheap to put out an album of b-sides, so they tack them onto the older stuff.:nonono: i'd say, if you're gonna do a remastered, tacked on blah blah version of a classic, then they should also keep the classic with teh original tracks in print. when you mess with the track listing of a record, you alter the way it feels. keep original track listings please!

It wouldnt surprise me to see some Republic stuff resurface somewhen on a reissue, there was a hell of a lot of remixes done to the singles on that album, which is now nearly a DECADE old!!

shit nearly 10 years already!!! eeeeek!!!! :\ohwell:

My Factory CD of Bro'hood also finishes with SOTN. A shame, i.m.h.o. I always skip it.
