Do you think any more Joy Division video material will ever be released?

I've been waiting 11 years for that DVD!

Imagine, all the complete performances from here are the young men', Something else', the granda one we've only seen 30 seconds of, etc ... maybe it'd only run for an hour or so but stick a few interviews on there plus a fancy bit of remastering for better sound/picture quality

That's an easy £15 from every big JD/NO fan.

but WHEN!!?!?!

arghhhhhh

probably never now...so anyone that has that Granada clip, now is the time to leak it.

I recall a discussion about multiple copyright holders being a hangup. Each wants a piece of the pie and with the projected sales figures the distributor wouldn't sell enough to make it worth while.

Tell me about it. I think I've only seen a few short clips over and over again.

It would sell more than reissued New Order LPs! But yes, you're probably spot-on there.. if they can't agree anytime soon, there won't be much interest to release it. It could happen if the (ex-)band members invested some of their own time and money (and there are fans willing to help out too), but do they give a flying f-?

It would be a good idea as there's so little JD vid footage really. A comprehensive DVD/Blu-ray would be excellent. I'd buy it!

Wasnt there meant to be backstage footage of the Leigh Festival?..or did I miss the bit were it was rubbished?

It would seem the person who made that claim is a notorious bullsh*tter who has sold fake JD material in the past. If it does exist, they'd better get it out soon while there's still a little bit of interest.

Cannae see anything else being leaked unfortunately.

Would love to see the Plan K footage as well, don't care how poor the quality is and also the stuff from TJ Davidsons....the glimpse of rehearsal footage on the Joy Division Documentary was magic as well, wonder how much more of that there is.

While it would be nice, the time for this sort of release (I.e. 2007, Control, Joy Division documentary etc) has come and gone. The label has nothing to piggy back a new DVD on... it would be out there on it's own and I think it's been made pretty clear from Warner's treatment of NO/JD's stuff over the years that they have no interest in.... err, they have no interest.

Wouldn't hold your breath.

Ahem. It's 30 years since Ian died for our sins next May, Ally. Wouldn't that make a good 'piggyback' for our friends at Warner's?

Show some fucking respect.

My mistake, allow me to begin:

RIP etc... now get the pizza out of the oven.

The only thing that still needs to be uncovered from the Joy Division archive is a photo of the unfeasibly large turd from the Leigh festival. I've been wanting to see it since I first read about in 20 years ago.

And I know I'm not the only one. Rest in peace, massive poo.
