"I don't think much of the boy-band, girl-band, manufactured band shit that's around now - needs a boot in its face, don't it?" BERNARD in interview Ammocity

I'm disappointed contemporary music showbiz and offer that topic.

  1. Limp Bizkit
  2. Eminem
  3. Britney Sexspears
  4. Backstreet Boys
  5. Will Smith

I made the mistake of wasting three and a half hours watching the MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday night. Definitely brought home how dismal the popular music scene is. After a while I turned the sound off and listened to Get Ready. By the way, you forgot NSYNC, Destiny's Child, and the Moulin Rouge girls. About Eminem, though, he's in a better class.

I managed to watch the awards yesterday too, I was kind of upset though that U2 didn't win any awards, except that Micheal Jackon one... That was good because they deserve that! (I can think of more bands that do as well)

It is sad to say here in the US (I am not sure about the rest of the world) that pop (i.e. boy bands etc) and rap rule the listeners....so sad...

And it's not even good pop. I actually thought Bye, Bye, Bye was not that bad, but this year's NSYNC offering (Pop)is atrocious and indefensible. And they won three awards (I think) for that!

I quite like some of Destinys Child's singles and was partial to some of TLC's output, it's better than the so called 'indie' stuff you get nowadays.

Is Bootylicious one of the ones you like? As for TLC, I liked some of their stuff too. Waterfalls, for example.

Waterfalls.... oh god

I can't remember what the song titles were called but No Scrubs by TLC was, I thought, a classic for a Top Ten song. I must admit that most of the "r&b" stuff that is around at the moment is utter shite.

And talking of Michael Jackson, does anyone remember this "Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson, someone shout Michael Jackson, He's alright Michael Jackson, I like him, he's good"

I thought this thread was going to be about your favourite New Order track to listen to whilst taking a dump.As long as it's not a 7" single.

I think I'll have to start a thread titled "Favourite N.O track to have sex by", seeing as most bodily functions appear to be covered here.

I can't really say that I can remember that phrase but I grew up with Micheal Jackson. I remember my brother and I had every tape and we just loved him. I still have the original Moonwalker video from back in 85 or something.

Still to this day I enjoy his music. I have to say that his earlier stuff (when I was growing up) is much better than his 90s music.

Jackson fan for life :p

Didn't they go bankrupt because of that video? (I saw it on Behind The Music, since they will play that one over and over and not replay DM's)

That's the type of song you are ashamed you actually enjoy.

It played SO MUCH on the radio that I actually started to enjoy the damn song.

There is a song called "Creep" which also ain't bad.. but I know actually nothing about that group, except that I saw the Behind-The-Scene April is talking about (in french) when zapping one day..

Ah, those types of song! This is why mp3 is great, you can listen to song you wouldn't tell your friends you actually enjoy :D

Now that I think about it when I heard that scrubs song from TLC on the radio I noticed it had a really kick ass bass line that really bumped in the car... not bad!

Is Pump Panel Reconstruction Mix of 'Confusion' 7" single? It suit physiologically. :)

Actually, Jackson family and theirs clones like Di Childs, TLC and all kinds of Lopez are shitty shit + professional sound-engineers. Sound is good, and what? ...So Michael was not bad in mid 80s when he was black, bad, and smooth criminal.

By the way, USA responsible for such genuine bands like Sonic Youth, REM, Beastie Boys, Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins.

Hey, hold on... Eminem is seriously fucking good (obviously not as good as one particular band though)

Glad to see somebody else here agrees with me on that.

Patty - EMINEM is a class act, granted. Limp dunkin' Biscuits/ Outspatz / The Offsprouts and others are a little bit where's my skateboard. I'm quite partial to a bit of Jimmy Nail... so my taste is poo. Still, I think I can recognise filth from a smelly badger named tony.

Hey, its just a good job there are others on this site and not just me... after all, variety is the spice of life. And life is full of wide and varied opinons. Why else would they put a known killer in a jail full of imposters?

Huntsy, glad to see you calling me Patty again. I like it when you do that. Of course I know that saying that will probably make you stop. I'm also glad to see you recognize the difference between Eminem and Limp et al. However, I'm saddened that you put my beloved and god-like Offspring in that company.

Interestingly enough Pat, there is a fish and chip shop near where we live which my girlfriend likes to go to. As I'm a non-meat eater I chose a 'Patty' instead of a big fish which is constructed of vegetable oil and potato encased in a fine batter. Sometimes I accompany this with chips (crisps in Amercia or French Fries) and typically several rounds of bread are featured on the table. We make numerous chip sandwiches and I like to coat my serving in ample helpings of salt and vinegar... with a fine smattering of tomato catsup (ketchup in the UK).

But, after all of that, there's still no excusing your interest in the Offspring brothers.

In America I hear that you have a similar food to the 'Patty' - it is called the 'Hot Dog'. With the exception of the potato and dog, I'm sure you'll agree they are almost identical.

Don't underestimate Cheese Patty, its got me through the last ten years... and I never suffer from leg drag.

Well, Huntsy, what am I to make of all that? I'm a great fan of potatoes myself, and also potato chips (crisps to you I guess). Are these potato "patties" made from chopped potatoes, or whole ones?

Huntsy, I can't very well agree that a hot dog is virtually identical to a "patty" when I'm still trying to grasp the "patty" concept.

It was a lot for anyone to take in. There's no rush.

Off topic completely (although Barney often referred to Michael Jackson in the past), but watching MJ's return at Madison Square Garden in New York City last week, I couldn't believe his face -- he got plastic surgery so often that it now looks as if he was wearing a MASK!

Worst: it reminded me of Planet of the Apes!!!!!!

Yes, his nose seems to have changed once again since the last time I noticed.
